(From zentealife.com) I got this one because apparently tumeric is really good for inflammation. I’m not sure I’d ever drink enough tea to make a difference, but it’s nice to have something “healthy” to sip on after my caffeine cut off.
After the 7 minute (!) steep, nothing really overpowers the ginger. There’s licorice in the aftertaste (quite strong, actually), but ginger is still front and centre.
I added a little honey, and it’s… pretty good. I think it’d be better cold, but maybe with a 5 minute steep, or cold-steeped. That licorice has such a weird sweet aftertaste that I apparently really don’t care for. With less licorice, this tea would have a super high rating. Sadly, with the licorice, I’m feeling rather meh about it. It’s not undrinkable, but it can’t even approach a licorice-free rating.
If you like licorice and ginger, this tea is for you.

Hmm, I’m not so eager to try this, although I’d planned to tonight. I do like licorice, but not ginger at full strength. This sounds like an odd combo.
Have you tried David’s Super Ginger? This one is not as gingery as Super Ginger, likely due to the licorice. But the ginger is definitely there. I vote to try it. And if you don’t like it, feel free to dump it! I ended up doing that. I just couldn’t get over the licorice. Need to try it cold brewed, just in case.

Good point! Cold brewing is great for mellowing out some questionable teas.
I picked out all the identifiable licorice bits from another tea, but they’re too small in this one! Make it work, or give it away… right?
