Bought this tea in Cannes, from a really nice teashop near the promenade. The packaging never ceases to amaze me – a beautiful caddy that is completely sealed, making sure that the tea remains fresh until you start using it. This is a very good ceylon, but if you don’t like ceylons stay far, far away. The astringecy here is very powerful, and it is a CEYLON ceylon – not for the feint of heart. It does well with sweeteners, and will probably take milk well – haven’t checked it yet. I look forward to getting to know this tea better with time.

Sipdown! A very good Assam, with or without milk. I most certainly intend to purchase in the future, once my “no tea buying hiatus” expires.

Teabox has several really good assams. My favorite from last year was the Nokhroy and Lukwah.
I tried their assam samplepack and there wasn´t a single one that wern´t at least ok.

Haven’t had a cup of this in ages. Enjoying one now while working on a final paper. The cup reads “Where there is tea there is hope”. Taking strength from that today.

drank Nilgiri kodanad special by Teabox

This arrived as a free sample as part of my All the Dajeelings sample pack from Teabox. It is not as smooth as other good Nilgiris, but it still a pleasantly soothing black, with some spicy background and no astringency. It’s too light bodied for milk. All in all a satisfying , solid tea.

drank White Peony by Tea Palace

Having this tea to calm down a bit. Someone just rang the doorbell and I jumped 10 feet in the air – my ears are now always perked to hear sirens, so it caught me by surprise. This is a wonderful white peony, with a strong cucumber presence, and natural sweetness that is soothing and tasty.
Keep calm and carry on :)

An excellent dian hong – chocolatey, deep and sweet. I’m still not 100% OK, so I was looking for a delicious “comfort tea”. I usually go for white teas as my “comfort teas”, but as I haven’t been getting enough sleep in the past two days, this golden bud was called for. The leaves are gorgeous and smell magnificently of dark chocolate and caramel goodness. Highly recommended, especially for the price.

Flavors: Caramel, Dark Chocolate

Thinking of you, Nofar, & the sad things going on in your region. I hope you stay safe, & am envisioning safety for you, your family, and all people in the region of all faiths who desire peace. Namaste :)

Thank you very much, Terri. It is becoming increasing difficult to voice wishes for peace or concern for the civilians under fire on both sides. I pray for peace for the region, and that the innocent may be spared more suffering. It is very hard to be hopeful these days, but giving up means leaving extremists to do as they wish, unchecked by reason or compassion. So I am trying very hard to keep calm and carry on.

drank golden tip assam by Postcard Teas

This is a strong, malty Assam that is very good, very smooth, and not at all astringent. Had a plain cup of it this morning, after a sleepless night. I’m experiencing an unfortunate bout of food poisoning, so I needed something brisk to pick me up, and help me soldier on. This most definitely did the trick.
This tea also works well with milk, just so you know.

Had this plain today. A really good and interesting Assam, smooth, malty, with distinct fruity notes. A worthy candidate to replace my beloved stolen Whittards Assam Hazelbank.

There’s a great little chocolatier next to my workplace that has come up with Earl Grey pralines that are mind-blowingly good. As it takes them three days to make them, and as they are very popular, they often runs out. They didn’t have any today, so we made up for it with a wonderful cup of this.

Bio

An Israeli computer programmer with a passion for tea (mostly bought in yearly shopping sprees in the UK), particularly black, oolong and white. I don’t generally enjoy flavoured teas or herbal infusions, but if a tea sounds interesting and smells nice I’ll most definitely try it. I drink several cups of tea a day, usually one or two in the morning, another one after lunch and one or two in the evening. My favourite tea so far is Lao Cong Zi Ya from Norbu Tea, but I’m constantly trying new teas. Only in the past year have I branched into Pu’erh and non-roasted oolongs. Finding good tea in Israel is difficult, so I import most of my teas from yearly visits to London, or from online retailers. If you see something in my cupboard that sparks your interest and you would like to swap with me, then please message me. I’m almost always up for a swap.
