I think I’m not really a fan of the sencha Frank usually uses. It gets astringent too easily and has that indescribable flavor that i just don’t like in some Chinese senchas. That thick mineral-y flavor. Bleh. To be fair, most flavored senchas I’ve tasted seem to have an even worse base tea. And their flavors don’t come close to being as good as those you can get from Frank. And this tea makes a lovely spring green brew. And after that freezing subway ride to work, any hot tea is welcome.
The flavoring here is quite tasty. I’m of the opinion that citrus and jasmine are lovely together. This is a light floral flavor with a hint of underlying bergamot. Subtle sweet flavoring. It was probably stronger before. I think this blend is a bit aged. :)
Second steep is mostly just green tea with just a hint of jasmine.
Nice tea for a warming up after a chilly morning commute. Thank you for sharing TeaEqualsBliss!
