It’s not as good as I thought it would be. The smell of the dry leaf is very similar to that of Birthday Cake, which I didn’t like because it was rooibos, but I thought with a black base it would be amazing. It is actually quite nice, but not my favorite. I get a lot of sweetness and a bit of cake and chocolate, but the black base is too strong for my taste. I’ve come to realize that I’m always a bit disapointed with teas that have chocolate in them. Maybe I expect too much. I would be very interested in trying some from another company though because I’ve only had some chocolate teas from David’s Tea so maybe I’m just not a big fan of their chocolate flavouring. We’ll see!

I’m quite new to tea. Like many people, the tea brand that got me started into loose leaf tea was Davids Tea. It was about 2 or 3 months ago. My first try was Pumpkin Chai and I was blown away.

I started mostly because I was looking for something that would satisfy my sugar cravings without all the calories, and also for the health benefits. I soon realized the world of tea was way larger than what I originally thought, and I’m glad I’m now a part of it !

I’m way intense when I get into something, so I bought too many kinds of loose tea leaf, trying to figure out which ones I would like best… So far, I mostly enjoy flavoured black, green or oolong teas. Anything floral, fruity, minty or sweet is great. I like dessert teas and also enjoy chai teas. The only thing I can’t stand is rooibos. I’ve tried several blends and I had to either give them away or put them in the trash.

Other stuff I’m into include traveling, language learning, TV series, yoga, Harry Potter, reading, writing, eating too much and hiking.
