Thank you to TeaEqualsBliss for sending me a bit of this tea.
Hmm. Chocolate-y. The other tasting notes mention a subtle chocolate note … but I am getting a strong dark cocoa taste from this. Perhaps because I steeped it for 10 minutes in my Libre Mug (and it continues to steep as I sit here and sip on it?) I don’t know. Perhaps because I had a very tart apple juice just a while ago and it has made my taste buds more tuned in to particular flavors? I don’t know. All I do know is that my first sip reminded me quite a bit of pure bittersweet cocoa with notes of spice. I don’t taste rooibos at all (and I personally think that’s a good thing).
Anyway… I’m liking what I’m tasting at this point. If the flavor changes as I continue to sip, I’ll be sure to note it in the comments.

As I continue to sip, I can taste the barley and the chicory. These two components really seem to play to the savory cocoa flavors I taste. I taste relatively little of the spices, I can taste warmth from the ginger and cinnamon, but, these really aren’t strong flavors. Nevertheless, I’m quite enjoying what I am tasting!

Even though I can’t drink red rooibos ’cuz of migraines, this one temps me!
