I revisited this earlier today to see if a shorter steep time might be beneficial to minimize the slight bitterness I noticed, and yes, it does help. The flavors, though, are a bit softer too. I think what is most beneficial is to let this tea cool slightly after steeping for a slightly longer time (2 1/2 minutes in the Breville). I find that the bitterness tends to dissipate at that point, but the flavors are strong and delicious.
