This is tasty. A little different as I hadn’t read the description of this tea before I steeped and took the first couple of sips, so I didn’t realize it was actually a twist on the classic Earl Grey and had other ingredients (vanilla and licorice root, most specifically). But I like these change-ups and am always interested in trying a new Earl Grey variation.

The licorice root was probably the most unusual ingredient I noticed in the description, as I can’t recall having tried an Earl Grey with licorice root in it before. That doesn’t mean that I haven’t, just means I can’t recall at the moment. But these two ingredients seem very well suited for one another. This doesn’t taste overwhelmingly licorice-y, it doesn’t really taste licorice-y at all. Instead, the licorice root seems to fill in the gaps and smooth the sharp tones of the bergamot just enough to create a very seamless taste.

Quite good, actually!

I’m not a big Earl Grey fan, but the additional licorice root makes it sound much more enticing! I will have to acquire…asap. :)

That’s good to know about the licorice root…I’m not a huge fan of the stuff. Thanks for the heads up.

The reason I’m no longer writing for SororiTea Sisters is because I am now the Mad Tea Artist for 52Teas:

I’ll still be posting occasional reviews on teas here on Steepster, mostly backlogged reviews because I’m way behind on getting reviews posted. That’s why I’m keeping two accounts active at the current time – so that I can get those backlogged reviews posted.

My favorite teas are Yellow Teas with most Oolong teas at a close second. As far as “flavored” teas go, I love Earl Grey, Chocolate and Jasmine teas.

I also am intrigued by flavored teas with an unusual or unique flavor combination, which is why I was very excited to be the Mad Tea Artist of 52Teas!
