1324 Tasting Notes
I think the name of this tea is somewhat misleading. Tried a cold brew to see if that would help bring out the fruit flavors. The cold brew unfortunately didn’t bring out the fruit flavor and left me with the same opinion of this tea as the hot cup did. Not a fan of it. It’s chalky from the matcha and the bancha isn’t great. Glad I didn’t buy a sample of the peach one because I’d probably have a similar opinion.
This one I questioned my decision on cold-brewing it. I wasn’t sure it’d work out too well but figured it’d be worth a try. I actually thought that the peach and the cream flavors were a lot more noticeable in the cold brew. A cup of this one hot was always lacking in peach or fruit.
Flavors: Cream, Peach, Vanilla
Malty and smooth unlike the first cup which was quite astringent. The banana is subtle but nice and this would probably be good with milk. I decided to try adding some almond milk to the rest of my cup but luckily determined it had spoiled before adding any. I need to make a cup of Curtis Banana Flambe soon and compare the two teas.
Flavors: Malt, Smooth
Preparation
I think I actually like this one cold-brewed better than I do hot. I don’t love the base tea though but the grapefruit flavor isn’t bad. Just trying to finish off the rest of the sample pouch.
Flavors: Citrus, Grapefruit, Mineral, Wet Wood
This is definitely better cold brewed than hot. I had the same issue with the base, but I’d add a touch of honey to elevate that grapefruit note.
