1324 Tasting Notes
I’ve had this tea several times before but haven’t reviewed it. This was a free sample from my DT order.
I prepared this hot with some unsweetened vanilla almond milk.
This tea is quite similar to TJ’s Winter Wake Up tea except even sweeter and it’s caffeine free.
This tea is SO Sweet and I like really sweet teas but it’s like drinking Cinnamon syrup straight. The chai aspect of this tea isn’t there at all. The apple in the tea isn’t there at all either. I think the cinnamon flavoring they used is what ruins it.I love cinnamon and put tons of the spice itself on things, but syrupy cinnamon flavors aren’t ones I reach for and can only tolerate occasionally.
This tea would probably be amazing as a milkshake with some fresh granny smith apples and some vanilla bean ice cream or frozen yogurt. Since it’s already so sweet you wouldn’t have to add much ice cream. It definitely tastes like a simple syrup just lacking the thickness of the syrup.
Flavors: Cinnamon, Pancake Syrup, Sweet
Preparation
My health problems have been flaring up pretty much everyday for the past week. So I’ve not been sipping down as many of the teas I’ve been trying to focus on as much as just focusing more on drinking gentle teas.
This particular cup was the best I’ve had and unfortunately I only have enough left for one more cup.
I added a capful of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and a bit of honey and agave since my honey container had to be heated to get the last bit out.
It was a nice strong cup, that wasn’t oversteeped or understeeped in the slightest. I leafed it and steeped it just to my liking apparently. Since this is the type of cup I’ve been expecting from this tea since I got the larger bag size of it. Of course with my luck I’m at the end of the bag by now. I wasn’t even trying to steep it perfect this time. If I could get every cup to taste like this I’d definitely repurchase it. I do wonder though if it was also that all the yummy spices were at the bottom of the bag.
Love these flavors together.
Preparation
This is my last free sample from my H&S order that I have to use up. I prepared it hot with no additives. It came in the form of a sachet.
This is quite pleasant. It definitely would make a great breakfast tea or bedtime tea. I’m definitely enjoying it a whole lot more than the Tao of Tea Black Spiral I drank the other night.
While drinking this cup I didn’t pick up on any astringency or bitterness. I find the flavor to be extremely pleasant. It’s hard to describe though. It’s sweet, bold but not so much as some black teas. I noticed that someone described it as fruity but I wouldn’t say so. It’s also slightly rich.
