7 Tasting Notes
This is the matcha I use for matcha lattes and matcha palmers at home. I also usually carry a travel tin of this to add extra matcha to my lattes from Starbucks as I feel the syrups can be a bit much.
Preparation
Slight smoky flavor. It reminds me a lot of pu-erh, which I later learned that Yunnan used in this blend is aged longer to form pu-erh blends. This is really my favorite of the black teas. That’s saying a lot when previously my favorite was chai.
Preparation
I drank a mug of this tea this morning fro Starbucks and it’s the second time I have tried this. The first time i tried it was last summer so it has been a while and wanted to retaste it for reviewing puroses. It tastes similar to gyokuro due to its vegetal notes. It seems to have medium caffeine amount.
Preparation
I decided to cold brew this last night before I went to sleep. I awoke and immediately tasted and was pleased. In the past, before researching the proper techniques to steep tea,I was guilty of steeping at too high of a temperature.
Well with cold brewing I don’t have to worry about being distracted by getting ready to go out or tending to my son or other home duties. Just set in fridge and forget for a while.
It’s a light grass taste, nit bitter and I love pineapple so that seals the deal. Unfortunately this was my last bag and I would repurchase again from this brand. They have a promotion right now that if you spend $25+ you get free shipping. :-)
Preparation
This was one of several teas by Republic of Teas that I purchased at a discount about a month ago. It has a rather weak spice taste and the apple is faint as well. Being that it is a tea and not actual apple cider, I still expected a strong spice taste. I would recommend adding extra cinnamon stick to steep and a little amount of sugar to complement the taste. I would not repurchase again.
