Its surprisingly smooth for a (fake CNNP cake).
Dated 2000 on the wrapper, cake looks like a well aged cake however tasting provides a super market loose leaf taste without any fermentation or earthiness to it.
It is a fine sip, smooth and thick but has probably been artificially aged and no real taste differences throughout the various steeps.

You must remember fake is in this case a relative term because every tea maker in China used the CNNP packaging and label during this era, even Menghai Tea Factory productions from this era did. It could be less fake and more some small tea factory that no one has ever heard of.
I just bought a 2004 Cnnp yellow label $8usd and it has similar taste doesn’t taste fermented, earthy it’s very smooth not to many notes kind of boring does this sound like the one you have ? Also is Cnnp known to use pesticides ?
sounds spot on mate, also im not too sure about the pesticides, i haven’t died yet =p but i wash x2 for 10 seconds and then a quick 1 seconds wash before steeping.

We have all done the eBay gamble. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. It has allowed me to find some good sellers though.
