230 Tasting Notes
I received rave reviews about this tea from several friends. I really wanted to like it. I had an open mind even t hough I have had bad lick with Celestial Seasonings in the past. Based upon their recommendations I decided to try it. It smelled GREAT dry. However, the taste (to me) was chemically and lacking. Also, the smell when steeped to me was like sour milk. I will not be drinking this again. However, can I use it as potpourri? (ha!)
(As an aside my husband liked this A LOT. So to each his/her own!)
I got this as a free sample from tea forte. I truly appreciate the generosity of tea forte in providing the sample. However, unfortunately I do not really like this tea. I wish I did! However, it tastes somewhat medicinal. I do enjoy other tea forte products but this one is not for me.
As an aside: I had the cup sitting next to me and my husband came in and asked for tea. I handed him the cup and he LOVES this.
I had this last night as my evening cup. I am trying to cut down on caffeine after 8:00PM. Generally I stick with tisanes in the evening instead of decaff tea but a friend had given me this in a collection of Harney & Sons teabags. I was pleasantly surprised as I do not generally drink tea-bags OR decaffeinated tea. It had all the taste of a middle brow ceylon. This is surprising because I had VERY LOW expectations. Decaff tea generally tastes like mud! While I am not running out to buy this in teabag form I would perhaps order it from Harney in a small amount in loose leaf for my evening cup.
A sweet overly fruity hibiscus blend. I know many don’t like the hibiscus but for me it is not unpleasant. I have about 2 oz of this in my stash and plan on enjoying it. The flavor is very tart but I can also taste the other flavors. And yes, as other notes below state, the color is RED.
Preparation
I got this tea from a local distributer of Artisans cup.
http://www.jansteapot.com/main/home. I LOVE the fact that Jan is at the farmer’s market and other local events.
This tea is okay. The black tea is strong and I cannot really taste the pomegranite or mint. I think it would be better iced. The black tea does not taste like anything super unique. This tea is not HORRIBLE. I will leave it at work and drink the remainder of my package as brainless sipping while I work. However, this is not a treat nor is it a tea I would purchase again. I will try another Artisans cup tea next time I see Jan at an event…
