2 Tasting Notes
My mom went to visit Bangladesh, which is where this tea company originates from, and she had brought me a box of this tea. The box and such indicated that it was probably a western-influenced company and that they’re “modern” (whatever that may mean). The company was apparently one of, if not, the first organic certified Bangladeshi tea company. This was great news and I was excited to try it.
Fast forward several months and I’m struggling to finish this box. I wouldn’t want it to go to waste. It seems like the caffeine has diminished indicating that there’s a lack of freshness (from the get-go). It is organic, however, so the lack of preservatives may be the case. Regardless, it didn’t give me caffeine I was looking for even though green teas are typically low in caffeine. General grocery store brands seem to do the job better.
As for the flavour, it tasted like a generic green tea WITHOUT jasmine. There is zero jasmine flavour in these tea bags. There are metallic notes and the tea burns a little easier than other green teas I’ve had (unless that is its actual taste). That said, the tea does do its job, but as a standard green tea without the jasmine. I am cycling my caffeine intake and will edit this review if I find that there actually is caffeine after a short hiatus. Overall, I’d say this tea is comparable to a generic grocery store green tea. The jasmine notes are lacking and the flavour is a little too strong even with conservative steeping/brewing.
I have a lot of respect for the company though, it seems they are on the right track but need to look into better tea processing methods or better strains of green tea. Please add more jasmine.

Preparation
This was my second ever earl grey, so I’m not very experienced. The flavours in this tea are really well-balanced. I find myself steeping this tea 2-3 times and each time the quality somehow manages to stay exceptional. The interesting thing is that I’m not really a fan of citrusy teas and I often have to add a lot of honey, but this one was delicious as is without any additives. I highly recommend this tea as well as the company; they are transparent and carry several fair trade and organic teas.
