4 Tasting Notes
I was shopping for a tea pot and a tea kettle when I saw this. I thought it was too expensive and walked away. I received this for my birthday and I can’t even begin to say how much I love it. FINALLY something that takes the place of both of the appliances.
I use it daily..sometimes multiple times a day. I love that my tea will NEVER be oversteeped and that it will always brew at the perfect temperature for optimal flavor for whatever type of tea I am in the mood for. I seriously cannot say enough about it!!
Purchased this a month ago and I just got around to trying it. I followed the steeping suggestion on the package and steeped for 5 minutes. While 5 minutes is needed to develop the black tea flavor I think it has done a disservice to the green tea. I smell the earthiness of the oolong and unfortunately jasmine (I don’t care for Jasmine tea)but the green tea is too tannic and bitter at a 5 minute steep.
I am intrigued by the blend and will likely try this again with a 3 minute steep. But at 5 minutes I find it unpalatable without the addition of something to balance the bitter notes of the green tea.
I tried this again with a 3 minute steep and it was much better. Still not GREAT in my opinion. I even tried it hot and let it cool because I noticed lots of notes stating it got better as it cooled off. I don’t feel this changed it all that much in terms of making it more palatable. I have certainly tried worse teas but I think this is just a strange blend. Each type of tea leaf requires different temperatures and steep times to optimize flavor and I don’t think these work together that well.
