Bangkok (Green Tea with Coconut, Ginger and Vanilla)

delicious, would definitely repurchase 100%! this could become a daily afternoon staple alongside london fog. Such a creamy coconut!! only enhanced by other ingredients, giving it a “fresh” taste and comfortable mouthfeel. I used almost 2 full tsp for my 1.5 cup, but the flavors show up.

I got this as a Christmas gift from my sister in law while we were in Hawaii. Tropical but more savory than Mighty Leafs tropical green tea. I like a strong bitter green and i found this too soft with coconut and lemon grass.

Certainly an interesting and unique green blend. Reminds me of mango coconut sticky rice.

Got a cup of this at a B&N Starbucks yesterday. I’d never ordered any tins of it, because the description sounded so much like H&S Bangkok, I didn’t see the point. But actually, the two flavors taste quite different.

It turns out there is a lot of vanilla in this tea. It overwhelms the coconut and ginger flavors to the point that I’m not sure they are there at all, whereas in Bangkok, ginger is the strongest note.

Of course it’s always a little dicey judging tea by the way it’s served at Starbucks, because the steeping instructions go out the window, but my impression is that this is pleasant, but I didn’t love it. So much vanilla seems a little odd with green tea. It went down nicely with my pumpkin muffin, but in the long run, I much prefer a vanilla black.

Hit a deer with my car the other night. I’m perfectly fine, thankfully, but it did mean two days out of work while I waited for the insurance to inspect it and get me an estimate.

Car is now in the shop, getting fixed, and I am driving a nicer rental car than the one the deer’s butt broke, so I should thank my lucky stars that my insurance came through for me in my hour of need. Also that these last two days have been unspeakably gorgeous weather-wise.

Treated myself to this tea as a way to wind down from the hectic insanity that car accidents always entail. My expectations weren’t high— maybe I just haven’t been trying the nicer H&S blends? But this is one helluva cuppa. It tastes like something Stacey from Butiki Teas would have blended. The coconut, vanilla, and lemongrass all give it a sweet, spring-y, fine- tea-shop scent and taste. The green tea base is very high quality— I’m guessing it’s a dragon’s well from the brilliant yellow-green color and buttery taste.

It’s delightful, it’s delicious, it’s de-lovely…

I tried a sachet of this tea this past weekend. It was quite tasty. Almost creamy, very flavourful! The ginger and vanilla-coconut were very well represented. Tasted very Thai. I quite enjoyed it. I’d like to pick up some of this, though I would most likely de-sachet it. :)

I just finished off this tin and I really liked it. Sometimes I want to drink green tea, but want to avoid a really grassy flavor. The coconut, ginger, and vanilla in this balances with it well and make this a really good cuppa.

This tea has such a unique combination of flavors! The base is very smooth and mellow and stays in the background for the most part. As I sip, I get a strong coconut flavor and a little hint of herby citrus from the lemongrass. But at the end of the sip, the ginger takes over and lingers in the aftertaste. I don’t think this is something I would have chosen for myself, but I’m actually really enjoying it. I’d also be curious to try it iced. Thanks for the sample, Kyla!

Wow! I have only had this cold-brewed so far, and I have to say I adore it that way! I can taste the creamy coconut and a touch of lemongrass, which is decidedly NOT lemon. It is really lovely. I should also note that I only used one bag for a quart of tea. So, although it’s weaker than others may like, I’m not left feeling like it’s missing something or like I’m just drinking water. Even the mouthfeel is changed. Yum! Definitely feels like a tea to enjoy with lunch!

I’m fairly certain this is the tea I just drank. I got a couple of sachets from a stash sale.

This was weird. I got some green tea flavour and a lot of perfume that was bordering on soapy but not quite. No coconut, ginger or lemongrass. I dunno…

This was sent as a sample with my order, and although I normally drink black loose teas, I did like this, and might consider ordering it. The coconut was dominant in a good way, but I did pick up on some ginger as well. All in all, a nicely done blend.
