Cookie Dough

Thank you Ne14t for this sample. It is so good! It literally tastes like I just shoved a piece of chocolate chip cookie dough in my mouth. This may be my new favorite desert white tea. So good!

It definitely lives up to the name of Cookie Dough. It’s wonderfully sweet and soothing on a cool autumn day. It reminds me a lot of the “Buttercream” tea of the past but more richer in flavor nuances. Especially with the toasty warm feeling that comes from taking in the delectable steam. Well worth the wait and the anticipation felt when I first heard about this release.

Dry: Mixed white tea and several different bits blended together. Looks like toffee pieces and cocoa perhaps? Smells like raw chocolate chip cookie dough and I was excited to try this one. Probably a good thing, since I lost my mind and bought 100g without sampling it first!

Steeped: Cloudy amber liquor with a slight slick across the top. Not the prettiest tea to look at, but it sure smells like cookie dough! Yum!

Taste: This one is pretty spot on for flavor and aroma, if you were baking cookies with coconut in them. At least that is what I am getting along with walnuts, cocoa, and those magical cookie dough bakery notes. Overall, I still really enjoy it as a dessert tea. I usually like my tea unsweetened, but this one ramps up a little bit over-leafed with a dash of milk and sweetener. I am not sure if it is going away for good or just seasonally, but it is perfect to enjoy for the upcoming holidays, too.

The wonderful Cavocorax sent me some of this to try, and so I was very excited to make a cup of it tonight; it’s so rainy and cold out. (Still no snow here, though!) First taste: hnnnnng chocolate. It’s sooo chocolatey and vanilla-y and yes I am making these adjectives because I can.

Definitely one of my favourites. _ I will totally be ordering some with my next DT order~

I was surprised that it was a white tea, because to me, cookie dough is a heavy flavor that warrants a black base. Of course, this could also be because I had the Milk and Cookies blend from 52teas last year and that was a black tea blend.

This is one of David’s blends that has a chemical smell to the leaf that somehow hot water makes disappear, leaving behind a surprisingly accurately named flavor behind. There was an off chocolate scent… it almost reminded me of the smell of those chocolate orchids – kind of a cheap, artificial chocolate.

Despite the difference between black and white teas, both Cookie Dough and Milk and Cookies tasted similar to me. Taste wise, though, I think this one fares better than 52teas blend. It actually tastes more like chocolate chip cookies – but not the raw dough. Bummer, because I am that person that likes the dough more than the final, cooked result.

I’m glad I just got this as a sample, though, and not a bigger amount. It met expectations, it just isn’t to my particular taste. Oh well – I have a growing list of favorites from David’s, anyway, so I’m not deprived or anything!

Okay, I’m not going to lie. At first I was SO skeptical when I first heard about a cookie dough tea. I thought it sounded kind of gross, and I also doubted they would be able to make a tea actually taste like cookie dough. OH BOY, am I ever glad to say that I was wrong!!! This tea actually smells and tastes like cookie dough!!! And the fact that it is a white tea, I was even more skeptical because I thought it would become bitter, but I oversteeped it and it still tastes nice and sweet. This tea is definately a keeper, it is white tin worthy! Davids has done it again!!! * tears of joy *

It’s Friday afternoon tea time at my desk. Time for cookies! Well, not really. I’m eating whole wheat crackers and drinking this tea in order to trick myself into thinking I’m having cookies, because I don’t actually have any. Is it working? Well, sort of.

This definitely smells like chocolate chip cookie dough. But I’m not really getting that in the sip; instead I’m getting a nutty vanilla flavor. Hmm. The description says sugar cookies, though the ingredients list cocoa peel and chocolate chips. As it cools, a tiny hint of chocolate emerges. So overall it’s maybe an almond sugar cookie dusted with chocolate. It was tasty, but no match for the real thing (you had big shoes to fill, Cookie Dough. It was a solid effort).

My first impression of this one was meh. But the girls told me to try it as a latte and BAM, there’s my cookie dough. As a slightly sweetened latte it tastes exactly like the raw chocolate chip dough that Pillsbury sells in their tubes. I was really hoping I didn’t have to stock up on any of this seasons but now . . . . I’m doomed.

Even though I had just been in to DavidsTea a few weeks ago, when the Cookie Dough tea from the Winter Collection popped up on my Facebook page, I needed it NOW! So I did what any true blonde would do…instead of going into the store for an instant purchase, I tortured myself and ordered online.

I finally received my box of goodies, with many more teas than just the Cookie Dough! I ripped open the bag and took a sniff….ahhh, pure Heaven! If this tasted as good as it smelled, I would not be disappointed! So I impatiently steeped my tea…then did the sniff test again…again, pure Heaven! It almost had a nutty, caramel smell…so good! Then the taste test. PASS! This is now my new absolute favorite tea! When I take a sip, I am not reminded of cookie dough until the after taste hits.

I decided to make it into a latte…and WOW! If you own this tea, try a latte. It has a creamy, nutty, cookie like flavor. It almost reminds me of dipping my gramma’s fresh baked cookies into milk. Try it!!

Decided to take a trip down memory lane yesterday at work and had this and banana dream pie which are both about a year old now. I had the banana dream pie first and found it did not age well, or else my tastes have changed, I found it a little chalky as well. Then I had this little gem. It’s as good as I remember. The dry leaf smelled like alcohol, not a bad smell, kind of like a sweet liquor. This really tastes like cookie dough. I have very little white tea in my collection because it is just not strong enough for me, but in this case it is perfect because it lets the cookie dough shine. YUM!
