Now that’s fresh.

When it comes to rooibos, some say green is the new red. Because while red rooibos tastes great, some say the new wave of unoxidized green rooibos is even better. What’s so special? The production process, which is similar to that of green tea, gives it a smooth, fresh taste. Here we’ve topped it up with the tropical flavours of papaya, apple, mango and peach.

Ingredients: South African green and red rooibos, apple, mango, papaya.

If you’re a fan of fruity scents and are looking for an easy steeper kind of tea, then this one might be perfect for you! It’s a forgiving tea that is light in flavor (and rich in scent) and won’t leave you with a repulsed look on your face and a bitter taste sitting on your tongue if you’re too lazy to take the tea bag out or forgetful (and if you’re like me, you’re both). The fruity notes of apple, mango and pineapple are uplifting and create an amazing chemistry (since they are all juicy fruits – Yum!). I love it best when it’s finished steaming though still warm enough for you to slurp down with comfort and ease. It’s caffeine free and easy to drink. I recommend this to those who are huge fans of these fruits. Do try it out!

Hot, this tasted mildewy to me. :C Maybe it’s the papaya. I’ve got a cold brew in the fridge with the rest of my sample so we’ll see….

Yes! That’s what always strikes me that I couldn’t put a finger on, mildew! shudder

Backlogging from last night….

Green and fruity indeed! It is delicious. Perhaps getting this DT 24 Days of Tea was a bad idea (well, good for me, bad for my wallet). This is another delicious tea. The dry leaf smell reminded me of Juicy Fruit gum from my childhood. Ah, the power of smell. Anyway, this was my first green rooibos, and I think this is a category I might have to explore more. I only made one cup of this, so I have plenty of the sample left. I can’t wait to have more!

This one is really delicious, the fruity flavours go very well with the green rooibos. I’m sure it’s really good iced, I need to try it.

It’s a very delicate blend!

Sweet, but not a juice tea, it tastes great hot and cold, but when you’re drinking it hot it’s best to not let it be steeped too long.

I got this tea for my 8 year old who really wanted to try it iced. I made my cup hot as a night time treat. The smell scares me, I am certain I will not like this tea. It smells odd. Taste: yup, don’t like it. It tastes a bit like soap or aftershave. I can’t place it but I really hate it. Darn. Hope it is better iced.

The smell lives up to the name, this is a fruity smelling tea. It took a few sips for me to be okay with this tea. There was something that was hitting me at first that I didn’t like. Maybe the green part? I think I can pick up apple and a touch of cinnamon on the sip. Over all it’s just kinda blah. It’s like a not very impressive version of a few other fruity rooibos teas that I have had. I’m really not finding anything special about it. Nope, not for me.

omigosh, now that’s a yummy tea! DT’s advent calendar is giving me a new appreciation for rooibos! This one is fruity and sweet, but not toooo much of either. It’s not a fake fruity taste, just a nice clean simple fruitiness, with a tad bit of tang. Just right. Now if only rooibos had caffeine!!…said the law student :)

BF liked it as well—we might have to stock up!
