With virtually no calories, it might be the healthiest thing you do all day.

I am surprised by how much this tea is growing on me. I am starting to really love the simplicity of it! When I am looking for a sweet dessert tea, it is a simple, no-nonsense, robust caramel cup. I can leave the tea bag in almost indefinitely, it really is not a finicky tea at all. This is my current go-to choice when we are entertaining and I want a cup of tea but don’t have time to fiddle with more temperamental blends!

Another winner from DavidsTea.

This definitely fills my craving for a good dessert tea. It smells amazing, and has a rich red colour when steeped.

I prefer teas which don’t require the addition of milk or sweeteners, and this definitely delivers. The rooibos and caramel pieces blend to produce a great tea which is sweet and definitely will satisfy your caramel needs.
I try to ensure that I have at least one caramel piece per steep (it definitely helps the caramel flavour and sweetness) but it’s good even without.

Definitely one of my everyday go-to selections, I just can’t get enough of this one.

Day 98 of my 101 day of DAVIDsTEA challenge (backlogged).

1.5 tsp in a tea infuser….

This is a lot like Crème Brulée, I found. The two had very simmilar flavour notes, including a creamy, caramel taste with just a hint of citrus. However, this tea seemed less… special than the other. It’s not bad, but given the choice between the two, I’m afraid I’d have to go with Crème Brulée.

From dry leaf I got a very nice caramel and sweet vanilla-y type of smell. I usually like dessert teas because it’s a very nice way to indulge without the calories.

Unfortunately I was disappointed. Upon drinking the liqueur, I could still smell the sweet notes of caramel, but I really can’t taste anything other than the rooibos itself. I am getting a very round flavour instead of a nice full bodied caramel. I was disappointed with this one.

EDIT: So I am trying this tea again. I don’t know if it’s because of my new steeper or because my city flushed the water mains, but this tea tastes really good!

Dry notes mentioned above are the same, so I won’t change it. As for the wet notes, I definitely pick up the sweet, nutty scent. Upon drinking, I was amazed how much flavour came through. It’s a very nice flavour: nutty, caramel, and sweet! I really feel like I am eating a creme brulee with its sweet caramel on top! I really enjoy this one now :)

I will definitely pick up a tin of this one. I really enjoyed it :)

I bumped up its rating!

I first tried the Creme Caramel Rooibos from David’s Tea in one of their sampler boxes, which I received as a gift. Best gift ever! It’s what I refer to as my “dessert tea”. It has this gorgeous caramel aroma that’ll make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Once you had a spot of milk and a little sugar, it really brings out the flavours in the tea. (Depends on your taste, I suppose. I love my tea sweet and milky, whereas my boyfriend (such a tea grinch) just likes it plain black.) Just the smell alone is worth it when you’re buying this tea. I’ve turned so many friends onto this one by making them smell it. When you drink it, you’ll truly feel like you’re indulging in some divine, decadent luxury. The only thing I don’t like about this tea is how my cup gets emptied so fast. Every single time.

Ok so reiterating what everyone esle said the smell is to die for! one of my coworkers thought i lit a candle it smells so good, the taste though is a bit disapointing it definately is creamy and a little sweet but i was expecting much more flavor from a davids tea….any way glad i only bought 25 grams this will be something to go to when i need soothing aroma’s around me.

It’s the first Rooibos I taste, but I don’t like it as much as I thought I would. It’s good, but it smeels a lot more before than after steep. It still is a good tea, but with subtle flavor.

Première fois que je goûte du Rooibos, je ne suis pas certaine si j’aime le goût autant que le vrai thé. Le Crème Caramel goûte beaucoup moins fort qu’il sent, mais il est quand même bon !

The aroma itself is enough to melt you down to half your height, the first time I held that tea in my hands, I kid you not, about fifteen to twenty minutes was spent breathing in the redolance that is Crème Caramel Rooibos Tea. The taste took me beyond it’s scent; the Rooisbos was definately present, along with the milky flavour and the sweet sugary-creamy taste of caramel as well, and yet it felt like they all hit you on their own, not one disgusting blend like you find in sickening pops such as Dr. Pepper, each flavour had it’s own identity and yet once they made it to my palette on their own they could work together and send my taste buds soaring. I definitely recommend this tea.

Wow this tea smells so good dry, intoxicatingly so. The scent is more toned down when steeped, less intense than sniffing straight from the bag. The flavour is also a bit different. Rooibos tasting with a mellow caramel taste. Not bad with brown sugar and a bit of milk. I’ve just finished off the rest and, while it wasn’t bad, I do not think I’ll be getting it again. For myself I would have like it to have a little more complexity to it.

Finished the rest of this tiny tin from the caffeine-free sampler tonight!

I’m a little torn on this one. Last night I think I understeeped it at 4 minutes, and it tasted like very, very light milk caramel chew. Tonight I got distracted and it definitely steeped for longer than 5 minutes… maybe 8 minutes? Whatever it was, it was way too long and it tasted woodsier and not caramel-y at all. But I’m not clamoring to try this one again. I was expecting something a bit more like Lupicia’s Caramel & Rum, which may have been the problem. That and the dry rooibos smells amazing. I wish I could just eat that smell.
