Yum! This is really good. Thank you so much Stacy for popping this one in my last order, I am now SO glad I ordered more during the sale! Dry leaf smells both of intense lime and moderate marshmallow. Hot it is basically lime candy. The marshmallow isn’t very strong but gives it sweetness, which helps take away a bit of the tart edge. It isn’t sour at all, just so very limey. I added in a little honey and the marshmallow beefed up a lot with the added sweetness.

I am so excited to have so many new goodies to try…pretty much everything I’ve had from Butiki is great!

Dry leaf: Lime Jell-o to a T. a hint of fresh heavy cream.

Liquor color: Just like the photograph, light yellow-green

Leaves: Dry – large grey-green flat leaves. Wet – spring green with a silky sheen

Notes: Blimey, this is limey! The dry nose smelled so very much like the lime jell-o I ate in waves as a kid. Sipping on the tea brought jiggly, wiggly cubes of fluorescent green to my mind. I think I steeped it at a too low temperature, not much was able to be gotten from the first brew, aside from overwhelming lime. The second time I steeped it I got a much more mellow lime flavor with a creamy hint towards the end. The tea is quite sweet in it’s own right, I dare not add anything more. It brings back memories of ‘frog eye’ salad my mom used to make. It was a strange concoction of cool whip, a dry packet of lime jell-o, and cottage cheese. Sounds like absolute trash to me now, but I ate it by the mouthful as a child.

Even so this nostalgia-inducing beverage is a bit startling to me. Whether or not that is a good thing, I will never know.

The lime is strong in this one, but not in a tart/sour way. The marshmallow shows up as a sweetness to mellow the lime flavor. All together it creates a lime candy sort of taste and smell. For me, personally, I find myself wanting a little more marshmallow and a little less lime, though I can see this being a favorite among lime lovers. At the end of the day, it is really quite nice but not something I need around forever (thank goodness too because I can’t really get more much longer).

Funny, this one.

I am a hater of all things lime flavoured. (Actual lime, no prob) I’m the one who picks around the lemon and lime skittles, or starbursts or whatever the candy may be, leaving behind a bag full of yellow and green rejects.

So the fact that I bought this is kind of hilarious. I was definitely swayed by the marshmallow, and by the fact that I was riding high on the promising wave of new Butiki Teas!

It’s very limey. The marshmallow sweetness was definitely noticeable too, it softened up the lime and was tasty. Neither flavour overwhelmed the base. But not tasty enough to make me love lime.

I think someone who enjoyed lime would LOVE this tea. It’s very flavourful and seems accurate to me. But I’m not on the lime bandwagon, which is why after trying one cup, this one is going to end up in the stash sale thread :)

If i was rating based on personal taste, I’d give this like a 65, because I don’t love lime. But seeing as how it’s a lime tea, it’s a great blend so if i was going to rate it based on flavorfulness and accuracy and execution, it would deserve an 85 for sure.

Sil

may be interested in picking this one up off you, once i get a chance to try a sample from what cavo picked up

ohfancythat

just PM me on facebook whenever you decide :)

DeliriumsFrogs

I am the person who picks out ALL the lime skittles… they are my favs. :)
So glad I’ve got this one coming!!

Cameron B.

Lime Skittles taste WEIRD! Like Windex or something. :P

ohfancythat

haha WORD!

DeliriumsFrogs

oh my god, I love them! Seriously. I can’t get enough of them when they’re around… Then, when you pair a lime with a lemon, oh MAN! I let the candy coating melt off before I bite down, so then it’s all soft and awesome… haha

Cameron B.

DeliriumsFrogs, I will be sure to save all of my lime Skittles in a little baggie and send them to you. :P

Sil

lime skittles are awesome..

OMGsrsly

LOL! Love it, DeleriumsFrogs! I’ll have to try that for maximum enjoyment. :)

DeliriumsFrogs

See, Sil knows where it’s at. lol

Cheri

I thought they changed the green skittles to green apple flavored? Or am I remembering the wrong candy?

Sil

no they did but you can still get lime in some of the non original packages

DeliriumsFrogs

One time I bought skittles without closely reading the package, and the lime WAS apple… but, really, I should’ve noticed, because the bag was all non-traditionally coloured, but that’s what happens when you’re shopping for skittles at 10:30pm on a tuesday…
Green apple is GROSS (unless it’s a blowpop, then bring it on…)

DeliriumsFrogs

…I just googled, and you are all totally correct! They DID change the lime to green apple! At halloween, we must’ve somehow got goofy skittles, because I was totally eating lime then….
This is just wrong. How could they DO such a thing!!??

OMGsrsly

I had no idea either. I’m gonna have to hunt me down some lime skittles.

ohfancythat

Ugh, if there’s anything i hate more than lime flavoured stuff, it would be APPLE flavoured stuff!!

All of my green skittles will be reserved for all of you :P

Nattie

Reading the reviews for this tea and I came across these comments – whaaaat?! They changed the lime to Apple for you guys?! Ours are still lime in the UK! I’m so glad, they’re my favourites (:

I love a good lime tea and I especially love the combination of lime and something creamy. This blend smells quite strongly of lime and just a hint of something sugary.

Sipping… Everything in this blend works so well together! From the white tea base to the lime and marshmallow… they’re just perfect together. The marshmallow softly hugs the lime, but doesn’t take over. I’m so glad that BOTH the lime and the marshmallow can be detected especially because marshmallow can be hidden a lot of the time! The white tea base is a great choice since it sits quietly in the background lending just a hint of smoothness. Yum!

The smell of this tea is enticing. Smells just like sweet, surgery limes. The dry leaf smell and the steeped smell make you want to dive right in. I love the bright lime flavour of this tea. It’s fresh, sparkling and juicy. The marshmallow flavour shines through and adds dimension. The lime and marshmallow combine to create a cohesive flavour fusion and leave you longing for another sip. One of the things I love about this tea is how it lingers on the tongue. The white tea base is light, never turns bitter and works well with the lime and marshmallow flavours. This is the first Butiki tea I’ve tried and I won’t have any trouble finishing the bag. I’m looking forward to trying some of their other teas as I have a feeling they will taste as high quality as this one does.

The dry leaf smells uh-MAY-zing; all sharp, zingy lime and sticky-sweet marshmallow. Resulting brew is pretty nice, but not anywhere near what the original aroma promises. Not sure whether I used too much water or too little leaf (this blend has quite a few twigs & is rather hard to measure with a spoon) but I think next time I’ll up the leaf:water ratio and see how that works out.

Knowing that Butiki is closing soon has lit a fire under my butt to try as many of Stacy’s teas as possible before they run out. I have been drinking, just not posting :P

So, now I’m having a cup of Lime Marshmallow in my brand new tea mug that my daughter got for me for Christmas. For those of you who didn’t see it in the thread that I resurrected from the graveyard last night, here’s a link to the picture of my new mug. I love it: https://www.flickr.com/photos/eccentricpastiche/15928728560/

This thing holds 16 ounces of tea, so I’ve got sixteen ounces of lime marshmallow in front of me right now.

The flavors start out very delicate. The lime is the strongest flavor of the cup, but it’s quite delicate too. The tartness of the lime lingers into the aftertaste. I like that it’s not overly tart, the sweetness of the marshmallow softens the tart lime just a bit.

There’s a creamy layer of flavor beneath the lime. Soft and sweet. The marshmallow and the white tea work nicely together – the light, subtle notes of the white tea with a light sweetness from the marshmallow. It’s nice. I think I am finding myself wanting a little more marshmallow flavor. It’s good but I feel like it could be better.

I love your mug. Those lines are some of my favorites too! Snape is the best :D so sad at the end.

LiberTEAS

I still cry when I watch it. When I read the book, I had to stop reading and cry for about an hour after the chapter about Snape’s memories.

LiberTEAS

This is even better on the resteep! The flavors are really THERE now.

Fjellrev

I was hoping it would be a lot like Frank’s Lime Jello Salad.

LiberTEAS

@Fjellrev: no, it’s not really like that. I love both though. But they are different.

Kittenna

Fjellrev – to me, they are definitely along the same lines, but Butiki’s is creamier and the base is less noticeable (also, less chance of bitterness). If you like Lime Jello Salad, you will like this tea.

LiberTEAS

I agree that they’re similar and if you like the Lime Jello, you’ll like this. But there are some noticeable differences as well. Both are delicious.

I just brewed this tea tonight, and I found that with a little extra leaf the flavors really come through nicely.
