338 Tasting Notes
I just ordered a crapton of samples from t leaf T, so my next few reviews will be from them, LOL.
I was hoping this one would be similar to Super Ginger from DT, and while the addition of the lemongrass and kawakawa (which I had never heard of until I tried this) does make a difference in the taste (no shocker there), I felt it works as a replacement. I don’t think I’d drink this one a lot, but it’s definitely good to have on hand when the ginger fix needs attention, haha
This was one of the first teas I ever had from DavidsTea, way back when, so I’m glad it has made a bit of a comeback, and it was one of the ones I asked mom to include in my care package :)
Anyway, this is DELICIOUS as a strongly-steeped iced tea (I have to make my little sample go a long way, so I steeped this for, like, two days, LOL). Maybe a bit more potent than some people would like, but I still refuse to add sugar.
Hurrah for care packages from home! (Thanks, Mom)
I was expecting this one to taste similar to Superberry, though the mate base makes it distinct enough (at least to me). I am sorely missing my stash of mate as a morning pick me up, so I am very happy to have a little of this in my NZ tea stash. I suspect I might like this one better cold, but I don’t have enough for a proper cold brew, and I want to stretch out the leaf as long as I can.
I had high hopes for this one… It’s not as strong as I would have liked, despite me steeping it for ages and using a fair bit of the leaves. The smell is good, though! And it does make a good iced version (though again, not as strong as I would like). Some people might like the milder taste, as a general rule, I do not. :P
Another winner from my care package! The smell is pretty much on par with the legit apple crumble my flatmate’s girlfriend made last night, haha.
Other than DT’s Apple Studel, I’m not sure I’ve had an apple tea with a black tea base. I tried this one plain, and with a bit of milk and I loved both cups. Now that I’m transitioning into autumn (and winter is coming, woe!), I’m getting back into those warm, comforting teas, when normally at this time of year I’d be going hard core into the iced stuff.
My first care package from home had this in it!
Honestly, this is probably in my top three of teas I’ve sampled from Steeped Tea. It’s really good, and I was craving some cinnamon tea. The cinnamon, vanilla and maple are muted as individual flavours, but whatever combination they’re in here works. I added some milk and this was a delightful addition to my dessert. Yum.
Wish I could drink black tea to try it! I have bought from steeped tea numerous times but have been disappointed more times than not lately, so I wish I would try this since most people who have it really enjoy it.
