Popular Tasting Notes
I like this tea a lot. It’s really hard to describe it as anything other than “good tea”. Rich taste, pleasant smell, the whole deal. It’s a simple blend, so you don’t need to be a tea snob to enjoy it.
I also have this in the decaf version and it tastes almost as good.
Preparation
I usually like Lapsang Souchong. But the kinds I have had before have not been nearly as smoky as this one. This one had an overwhelmingly smoky, bacon-y smell even before I brewed it. The tea smelled and tasted too smoky for me to drink more than half a cup. I wanted to like this, but I just don’t.
The liquor is a pale yellow, with a soft, sweet chestnut aroma. The crisp body is delicately nutty, quite complex, with a flickering hint of sweet grass and apricot blossoms.
Flavors: Apricot, Chestnut, Nutty
Preparation
This was my very first loose leaf tea, back in the day! I RUINED A LOT OF MY FIRST BATCHES OF IT and made it super bitter because HAHA I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT I WAS DOING but once I got the hang of it it was great! I ran out of it now but I would really love to give this tea another shot in the future because the smell is absolutely PHENOMENAL!
Preparation
This was pretty tasty, but sadly, I’m not remembering what the tasty flavouring was. Sweet citrussy, I think, but I’m not entirely sure. Was there a hint of ginger too? Honestly, I’m guessing at this point, so I’ll stop. It was good, though lightly-flavoured, but let’s blame age or poor storage for that part. Thanks to Sil for another sample!
First of all, I love roses; everything about them. When I saw this tea I just knew I had to try it. I was not at all disappointed. The taste, even unsweetened, reminds me of some sort of candy. Though I’ve never tried it sweetened I almost think sweetening would overpower it.
This is one of the most delightful, mellow teas I’ve had. Simply wonderful.
I have so much of this tea. I mentioned to a friend that I liked it when I had a 50 g bag and she bought me the 100g tin for Christmas I somehow ended up with yet another 50g bag on my shelf. The good news is that I’m down to about 100g of the tea and still enjoy a cup every so often. Nice pepperminty flavor.
I ordered a sample of this months ago and just now got around to trying it… and I’m glad I did! I have been a fan of every Harney fruit tea I have tried thus far aside from apricot, my favorite being black currant, and this is similar but different.
The dry leaf smells intensely of passion fruit, but the taste of the tea doesn’t reflect that strong scent. Instead, it’s a rich black tea with a vert slightly tangy and ambiguously fruity flavor. Passion fruit? I suppose, though I would not have guessed that in a blind taste test. It’s a summery, fruity tea that is very enjoyable plain and hot; I imagine it might be even better iced, and will have to give that a try.
Preparation
Really fresh tasting, sweet, and aromatic. You don’t need sweetener. The leaves are long and dance around in my french press while it steeps. The body of the liquor is thin, but full of flavor, absolutely makes you escape to a warm spring day. A delightful mug of tea.
