drank Paradise Green by Lupicia

Definitely one of the prettier teas that I’ve seen, and the aroma in the tin is absolutely delicious. It’s a decent tea when brewed hot, a yummy, fruity confection, but nothing earth-shattering. I can coax about 3 good infusions out of it, which is always nice.

The game changes, though, when it’s cold-brewed. It becomes bright, bold, sweet, tropical. I don’t get vegetal hints while drinking; it’s almost pure fruitiness. I’m running low on it now, because I’ve always got a jar cold-brewing in my fridge.

drank Electric Lemonade by DAVIDsTEA

I picked up the Electric Lemonade which is the Tea of the Month for July 2015. It is pretty good! I think I like it better than the Pink Lemonade. I am definitely a person who prefers sweet to tart and, as a I recall, the Pink Lemonade was more tart than this. I made a bunch of the Electric Lemonade over the weekend as an iced tea and it is a great tea when there are hot temperatures out there. Very refreshing! It will not be one of my absolute favourites, but it makes a decent iced tea.

I absolutely love this tea! I even made sure to hoard a whole bunch of it as well since it’s quick to finish because of how big the pieces in the mix are. It smells delightful and as a fan of banana-flavored things (let alone banana bread !!!), this was an instant hit for me. I definitely enjoy it hot/warm and sometimes I’ll add a bit of milk to it for extra flavor. If you’re a fan of banana-flavored or baked goods tea, I would definitely recommend.

With milk, this is one of my favourite teas. It is light and floral, rather than being bitter or overpowering, like some black teas.

Surprised a Lipton tea tastes like anything in particular, but I am getting kind of a honey note from this. I dunno, I have some David’s Yunnan Black on the way and hopefully it’ll give me a better basis for comparison, but this is surprisingly decent. Not something you pay too much attention to, but there’s definitely a flavor there. Good if you’re running late and don’t have time to do a higher-quality tea justice.

drank Crème Brulée by DAVIDsTEA

I had this one in a sampler set. I remember being excited to try it for the first time because I L-O-V-E creme brulee.

I found the tiny half filled tin of it yesterday and decided to finish ’er off. It was better than I had remembered, though my precision in making tea has changed so much since I first picked up this tea.

It tasted less ‘burnt’ than I remembered. I definitely wouldn’t say it tastes like creme brulee. But it’s not bad. It resteeped well at least three times. I wouldn’t be upset if it showed up in another sampler pack, but I won’t be purposely re-stocking.

I moved abroad almost a decade ago, so when I am back in the US I have the guilty pleasure of wandering through any nearby grocery stores and stocking up on my favoite (usu. Celestial Seasonings) and any intriguing flavors. And as I have a thing for foodie chocolate/vanilla/etc. type teas, I thought this would be a winner (even despite the roobis that I ’ve yet to have a good experience with)

OMG this one was crap! I just can’t put into words what a let down this one is.
With milk, without. Tea bag in for a bit, the whole time. Nada. This is not one I want
to ever drink on purpose again. bleh

Oh, this is pleasant! Lavender’s got some good marketing behind it, man; I always feel more relaxed any time I smell or taste it. I find the vanilla note perceptible here, as well, which is, I think, what saves this tea from being too floral for my tastes. I wish it were caffeine-free, as this would be a wonderful tea at bedtime, but alas. On the upside, I think this will make a unique and refreshing iced tea, and I can’t wait to try it out that way!
