This is the first bagged tea I have really enjoyed hot. Granted, I have not tried many, but the ones I have tried are just too weak of a flavor for me. This tea is a big step up in strength from the English Breakfast blend, and also a big step up in flavor. In fact, it reminds me a lot of coffee. I drink it black, just like coffee, and it is very full bodied and malty without being the least bit bitter. This is definitely my go-to for bagged, unflavored black tea.

I wanted a lemony tisane because my allergies have been terrible lately. I was hoping for a nice, subtle lemon flavor with a little bit of local honey added, and viola: a drink to soothe my sinuses. Instead, the flavor is so subtle that my plugged-up-nose just interprets it as cooked grass, honey added.

I am still getting used to green teas, but as I further my tea exploration I am enjoying expanding my tastes. I got this tea as a sample in my April Sips by box, and I do have to say on first try I rather like it! I am a big fan of citrus, so the lemon and orange notes are delightful, I am still dipping my toe in floral teas so I think I enjoyed the floral notes, but either way I do like this tea, and when I finish my sample I might buy more, which is a big step for me in regards to green tea.

So good! The kind of tea that I would drink anytime. Very simple. I like the orange flavour, even when hot! I really don’t understand, I usually dislike the fruit flavours in hot plain teas but here, it’s very present but good nonetheless.

By the way, I bought this at London Heathrow. I was so excited when I first saw their tea room and then the tea shop! I didn’t know Fortnum and Mason had their own stores but it was so beautiful and fancy (whilst the prices were very much comparable to popular tea stores in Montreal). I even took pictures of the store, my boyfriend thought I was a bit weird haha.

Very fruity. It actually has a nice ruby color thanks to the hibiscus. The stevia also helps to make it naturally sweet. I do feel refreshed after drinking this, and the electrolytes and antioxidants in it are probably to blame. I should try this iced sometime, as I’m sure it’d be delicious iced. I’d imagine that this would probably be a good alternative sports drink for those that are active. My mom apparently drank half the tin by the time I got home from school, so I’m assuming she loves it. My best bet is that she’s drinking it for the potassium in it from the dates, since she needs to increase her intake.

drank Earl Grey by Tea Forte

Used the tea bag version of this from the sampler I was given.

I’m smelling black tea and bergamot. :)

The taste is pretty much black tea, without much spice from the bergamot. This isn’t bad, but it’s nothing special. I don’t know if it’s the brand, or the tea bag vs. loose tea (I do tend to like the teabags themselves), but I much prefer the Star Trek Earl Grey from ThinkGeek (maybe it’s the fact that it has lavender in it, though I’ve been told that makes it a Lady Grey. Or the fact that I can see the lavender and bergamot flowers in it).

No matter what I do I cannot make myself like this tea. The chicory is so overpowering and makes everything taste awfully bitter.

I actually really enjoyed this matcha compared to their Matcha Matsu (which is still good by itself). I probably like it better because it is a little sweeter than regular matcha and I found myself drinking it more. I have yet to try this cold, but I do enjoy making it warm with steamed milk.
