Popular Tasting Notes
One of the reasons I like shopping at Teaspring is the bonus points you get for each purchase. This is a sample sized piece of the brick bought for those bonus points. I don’t drink a lot of Pu-ehr, but when I do I tend to like it. The colour of this one is bright reddish brown and the aroma is spicy and so strong that you can smell it already when pouring a cup. No need to get your nose anywhere near the cup for it actually. The flavour doesn’t quite live up to the aroma, though. You expect something strong, but it isn’t. The flavour is mostly there in the after-taste. It’s still good though.
Okay, it’s grown on me a little bit. Like kristinajoie mentioned below, it’s very much like marzipan. The coconut comes through a bit later, however faintly, and the ginger is almost imperceptible – although it does linger longer than the other flavors. Will try with some coconut milk and more sweetener next time. Really torn on this one.
Love this stuff. I found it was a lot more flavorful when ordering a fresh batch from Republic of Tea directly and loses its flavor if kept for a long time. Make sure you’re getting a fresh batch! Lovely almond flavors. Doesn’t get nasty even if you steep it forever.
Preparation
Was looking for something to drink and there was this sample from Adagio. I opened the container and the aroma wafting up woke up my senses! The hint of chocolate is what first got me. Then after brewing for 5 minutes, the taste was wonderful: rich, creamy and the hint of chocolate. Not for early morning but mid morning or (I can hardly wait) mid afternoon this is too good!!
