drank Cookie Dough by DAVIDsTEA
79 tasting notes

This was one of my most recent Davids purchases, and I must say it has seriously damaged me! This tea honestly taste’s like chocolate chip cookie dough, I am not sure what kind of witchcraft DavidsTea used to create this blend but it is AMAZING, currently holds the spot as my favorite tea to drink and I generally sway more towards Black Teas.

First cup I totally didn’t pay attention to the direction on the tin and brewed it as a gentle white tea (82*C for 2 minutes) not realizing it was a longer steep time and hotter temperature; however I was still rewarded with a great drink.

Dry the tea has quite large leaves of varying colours, large pieces of walnuts, lots of chocolate shavings and other bits of goodies for the flavoring. It has a mild smell to it that reminds me of the old candy shops from when I was a kid, very sweet and aromatic.

Brewing it looks like a jungle in your steeper, if you can see it! The smell is exactly that of cookies just put into the oven. WARNING brewing in the office place will cause mass confusion, take caution!

The final beverage really doesn’t need to be sweetened but I have a sweet tooth so I generally add a tsp or two of sugar to my teas, I added two to this brew and I thought I was drinking cookie dough. Its a nice lighter brown brew, thanks to the chocolate, that I actually prefer a smidgen cooler then most hot teas as it really gives the impression of a warm cookie right out of the oven.

Overall this tea is a home run in my books, bad news is its a seasonal tea so that means stocking up is required for the times when it isn’t available. If you are not a fan of sweet teas do not go near this one at all as you will probably dislike it, otherwise be prepared to become addicted after your first cup!

Tea, Earl Grey, Hot!

I will attempt to taste and comment on each and every blend offered from DAVIDsTEA and of course anything else that comes across my path.

I only drink tea brewed from loose leaf tea, and tend to sweeten my teas with a teaspoon of raw cane sugar per 8oz of tea and consider a cup either 12oz or 16oz depending on what mug I want to use.

I generally do not put milk in my tea’s; however sometimes I may make a ‘London Fog’ style drink or add milk to herbal infusions to add a bit more creaminess to it.

And I generally enjoy drink a nice hot tea while relaxing listening to some Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd.

I am quite liberal with my Tea ratings, I take the smiley face to heart for judging. If I really like it then it will score a high grade regardless of the brand or if I can keep it in my cupboard or not. But to break it down further a bit more check this out:

0-10 – Wouldn’t drink it if I was dying.
10-20 – Are you sure this didn’t come out of a bag?
20-50 – There is hope for this tea…somewhere but not here
50-60 – Drinkable, but not stockable
60-70 – Ok, were onto something here!
70-80 – Wow you gotta try this
80+ I freaking love it, where can I buy it?
