26 Tasting Notes
Finally my first taste of the famed swamp water. I have wanted to try this for awhile now, so I got a sample, just 20g, to try it. And I love it! The guava is perfect. The colour did throw me off a bit and the water doesn’t steep through my Steeper that well (it gets clogged). But I will definitely be buying a big tin of this for the winter. Perfect warm me up.
Preparation
One of my most favourite teas. It suits me perfectly every time. I love rooibos and the taste is perfect. I love how it tastes like a vanilla cupcake without the frosting (or the calories). I cannot give a better review. Warms my heart a little.
Preparation
Had a take away hot cup of this while in buffalo this weekend to see what teavana was about before I saw it in Canada. One thing I hated was that’s had to wait for it to steep before I could take the cup. At David’s, they put it in a tea bag that way I can walk around with it while shopping in store or the mall in general. At teavana I had to choose a tea, pay and wait for the tea to steep while my family waited for at least 10 minutes while I could get a cup.
Back to the tea. Holy flavour! Crazy flavorful but I would say that not all of it was good. I can see where it would be better iced but hot wasn’t bad. So well see how it goes when they come to Canada. I was very surprised with how expensive the tea was and how big their tins were.
I am in love with this tea. I love the taste of vanilla and it was perfect in this. The oolong leaves and the vanilla are paired well together. The vanilla is not overpowering, but I would have liked a little more taste. I steeped this tea twice and both were very good. I usually go with a 5 minute steep for oolong, but depending on what the leaves like I sometimes let it steep for longer until the leaves are completely un-folded.
Preparation
I really enjoyed this tea. Even though I left it steeping for a lot longer than a probably should have (was watching x-men), it was still really good. I think because I left it wayyy too long it had a bit of a sour taste. But the blueberry flavour really comes out and is perfect morning tea. I will be getting a huge order of this when my bag finishes.
Preparation
I love guava. But unfortunately I don’t really taste a strong guava flavour. I do like however the soft fruity taste. It’s not over powering and its not too tasteless. For me this is a comforting tea and I love it. I can only imagine how amazing it would be cold. I have finally gotten the hang of brewing green teas.
I love this one. The first steep was quite good. I could not get over the smell. Because I drank birthday cake on my birthday, I’m trying to remember. What I do remember is that it was good. The first steep was more rooibos then I would like. The second steep had more of a vanilla taste to it, giving it a more birthday cake taste. I haven’t been able to taste buttercream yet, but more actual cake. Like it’s coming right out of the oven. I am in love and so glad my sister got me this for my birthday.
I always forget how much I love Alpine Punch until I drink it. It is so flavourful, it just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside. I’m not much of a cinnamon person, but there is just enough to create this wonderful taste. I will keep this tea in my cupboard for as long as DAVIDs tea has it in stock. It is perfect for those Canadian winters or dreary rainfalls, like today.
After Daniel Scott’s notes about the water, I tried it again finally. And I do like it better now. I can definitely taste strawberries and all the warm goodness. It is amazing iced as well. So I’ve moved my rating up now. It’s a little too light for me (I’m in a black phase), but still good.
