227 Tasting Notes
OMG this smells so irresistible! Chai spices, vanilla… something else too that i find so mmmm. Hope it tastes like this :D Rooibos and chai spices combo sounds quite compelling.
Color is turning pretty orange-red, not very clear…
Tastes yummy. Quite fruity. Quite vanilla. Just a hint of chai. Not spicy really. Normally i’d leave it unsweetened because i’m kinda loving it like this but ill try it with honey and milk as they recommend on their website.
First honey… well for me was better without because it’s sweet by itself but its still very good.
Now bit of milk… yep yep very yum again :D Becomes quite mild. Think i found my perfect evening caffeine free tea.
I’ll give it the perfect rating today just because it surprised me so nicely…
Preparation
Had 2 more last few days. First one looked bit boring – like it didn’t even open properly. But second one was kinda awesome :D Here are links to the pics (http://twitpic.com/1lbxud http://twitpic.com/1lbxuf ). Tasted quite yummy too. It had something resembling silver needle. Like more white than green. Really not bad for a flowering tea…
Preparation
oh idk… weird. i kinda taste it back in my throat. that sweetness. chili kick lasts just short.
like the ginger of yogi teas but this one is still weird. too sweet or to weird idk. well made tea tho, just doesn’t match my taste…
Preparation
Idk. All these scented green teas in teabags from Twinings taste somehow artificial to me. Cant taste what loose green tea tastes like in them. Just the added scents which don’t convince me either. I mean its not bad and many can like this for sure but i prefer genuine loose tea taste. Classic Earl Gray (black tea) from Twinings on the other hand i kinda like. Tastes way closer to the real thing. Would like to try loose green earl gray. Maybe this is how it tastes. Not a big fan atm…
Btw bergamot is quite strong in it…
Preparation
First try tonight. I stocked up with this one looking to save money and not run out of my favorite kind of tea. Unfortunately this one and Adagio’s Silver Needle cant be compared. This one is ok but far from being my favorite. I still gotta experiment a bit with amount of it. Might become better. So far it has less of that delicate full taste that makes silver needle so good. And it has a bit of something i dont like a lot. Like bit of sour or something like it. Doesnt go well with silver needle. Looks like ill have to order from Adagio that amazing silver needle…
Preparation
First one was number 13 – Sky High Saussurea.
It didn’t look quite like it looks on the photo. Similar but without the extra white flower going high up from the red central flower. This one had just a big red flower and wrapped leaves around it. Rather big tho. Doesn’t look bad. In fact i left it standing in a glass bowl in the kitchen as decoration.
Tea is yellow. Rather light.
Tastes well herbal. Not so much as green teas I’ve had. Almost reminds me more of that special taste that silver needle has. White silver needle. It’s not as good tho. But it’s probably better than i expected.
Smells like silver needle. Didn’t taste that, to me, unpleasant jasmine taste. That’s a plus.
I filmed the opening of the flower – is nice to watch it. Might upload it on youtube and post the link sometime.
So it tastes similar to silver needle but not quite as goof but it looks nice. Solid rating…
