It’s cold in my apartment tonight and it’s been snowing off and on for about 6 hours. It’s all pretty and white out there. Definitely a night for tea.

This is one I haven’t had for several weeks. I forgot that I prefer it steeped with twice as much tea. My cup tonight was weak. Still drinkable, but next time I’ll need to remind myself to use more. It’s a very pale and delicate color in the cup, with a mild and slightly sweet flavor. Maybe i’ll have it tomorrow night again and brew it up properly.

Oh man… Snow! It’s spitting ice rain outside here. Boring. :/

Maddy Barone

It’s our first real snow this year. And last year we got only 16 inches the entire year. We broke a record! So I guess we’ve kind of forgotten how to drive in it. Lots of accidents and cars in the ditch. Glad I didn’t have to go out.

OMGsrsly

I’m still hoping for a snow day, since this is my last week of work and the last chance I’ll have for a paid day off!

Maddy Barone

I work from home so unless my power goes out I don’t get snow days. How’s it looking out your way, OMGsrsly? Snow in the forcast?

I really over ate at Mom’s Thanksgiving dinner. It’s been hours and my tummy is still uncomfortable, so Peppermint tea to the rescue!

This was my last tea bag of this. I’m not supposed to buy any tea until after Christmas but I may make and exception for this. I mean, everyone ought to have some peppermint tea on hand, right?

Lindsay

Totally. It’s practically medicinal, right? So a necessity, not a luxury. :)

Aw, last cup of this. I suppose that makes it a sip down? sad face

It’s pretty nippy here today. The temp is 27F or -3C. I guess that rates as nippy, right? So I decided to make tea instead of drinking soda pop. After an extremely unseasonably warm fall, the weather is deciding to act like winter may actually come. We are not prepared for it. I had to dig my winter coat out of the closet to take my car to the shop this morning. (Some kind person knocked my side mirror off. The mechanic said he could tell by the scrapes that it didn’t just fall off by itself.)

Anyway, I am home now, with a load of laundry going, and my tea. Time to write!

What a great tea for a Sunday morning. So warm, mild, and sweet.

This morning when I first got up it was cool. Cool enough to enjoy hot tea. This afternoon, however, it’s getting ridiculously warm. The average high today is 39 degrees F. It is now 59, and will probably top out at 65 or so. I have the windows open and I’m wearing a Tshirt, and I’m sweating. This weather, wonderful as it is, is not conducive to writing a Christmas story

I brewed my first “winter writing pot” of tea tonight! In years past, when I was working hard on a writing deadline I would brew pot after pot of black tea. The contract on my first book ran out and I requested the rights back so I can publish it myself. Rights revert to me on December 1. I am going through the manuscript to find any little typos or errors. I know there are some. Even after I went through it, the editor went through, and the final line editor went through it, there are still little but annoying errors. And I plan to add a couple of scenes to built interest in the other books in the series.

Anyway, I brewed a pot of this tea in my DAVID’S bubble clear glass teapot. I don’t know why that makes it better, but I like this tea more now than when I first got it. There’s enough bite of spice to make it interesting. And my handmade quilted teapot cozy works great. I brewed the pot at 5:00, and at 5:30 the tea was still hot enough that I had to wait to drink it. I poured the last cup at 7:00 and it was still warm. Score!

With detail work like that, you may just need to take your tea intravenously :) May all the little pesky invisible errors glow in the dark so you can find them!

Rosehips

I do this too! I call it writer juice, and I usually require pots and pots of the stuff. Good luck with the revisions.

Yay books! Here’s to successful sales. :)

Thanks, all! Time is flying! And now it’s the weekend! Woot!

Since I’m back to no smelling (again, gosh darn it. I think it’s really gone now.) I decided on a straight black tea for my midmorning cup. I remember that this one was a favorite. It’s mild, mellow and smooth. I don’t have to pout over not catching some luscious fruit flavor or subtle caramel sweetness. This tea is just fine on it’s own.

Nicole

Aw. Pooh on stupid no smelling. :(

ashmanra

Hmmm, A Southern Season sells a tea by this name. I have been wanting to go there.

Since I keep my bagged tea in a different location from my loose leaf tea, I almost forget I have them. Decided on this one for tonight. Couldn’t smell it, dang it. I remember it smelling like red hots. It still tastes sweet and spicy, just like the name. It actually tastes just like a red cinnamon candy heartI’m glad I went with this one instead of the peppermint herbal tea.

I’m glad I ordered another couple ounces of this tea. I had my usual cup of coffee, but it was chilly this morning so I had a cup of this instead of a Coke like I often do later in the morning. I drank it out of a particularly ugly but dear to me cup. I made it myself in a potters class. I completely botched it. The potters wheel turned too fast. or maybe too slow? Anyway, I had to make several attempts to form a cup shape. Even when I finished it the lip was a bit wonky. But I made it myself, so it was a favorite. Sadly, when I took the empty cup into the kitchen to rinse it out and put in the dishwasher, I dropped it. Good bye ugly cup. :(

OMGsrsly

That’s disappointing. :(

Ah, the weather has FINALLY become November-ish. The high today was 39 I believe, and since a couple of my windows were open a crack, it felt like it! Tonight I am enjoying a pot of this tea. It’s a delightful cup for an evening of eating English muffins and watching TV. I still really like this one. Even without a sense of smell I get the mint. Delicious!

I don’t know what is wrong with me! It’s November. I’m supposed to be drinking tea all day long. But every cup I’ve brewed lately gets only half drunk, and then spilled down the drain. It’s very disappointing! Of course, the weather doesn’t seen to know it’s November…

OMGsrsly

At least you’re drinking half of it? I haven’t even really been making tea. :/

Maddy Barone

It’s just like that, sometimes, isn’t it? Sigh.

OMGsrsly

Yeah. I do keep trying.

I love cats. I love alone time. I love sitting indoors on a cold winter night with a book or my knitting while drinking tea. I don’t have a sense of smell, so many of the more subtle flavors of tea escape me. Two of the things I CAN taste are bitter and sour, so any tea that has even a slightly bitter taste is nasty for me. And what others might perceive as pleasant tartness may be horribly sour for me.

I’m also a writer. I love writing, and a mug of hot tea helps me get through the hours sitting in front of the computer. Although I’m a comparatively new tea drinker, I’m jumping in feet first. Feel free to recommend any teas you think I might enjoy.

100-91 – Wowza! I want to keep this tea in the cupboard all the time.
75-90 – Very nice. It would be good to have this tea on hand from time to time.
60-74 – OK. Wouldn’t keep it in the cupboard, but I would drink it again.
45-59 – If a friend served this I would drink it to be polite, but it’s not really my cuppa.
Lower than 45 – Blech. It was too sour or bitter for my taste. Would not drink it again.
