When I got this tea, the lady in the store said it was one of their top teas, and after drinking it a few times I can see why. I’m not a huge fan of herbal teas at all, but I have enjoyed every cup I’ve had so far. As it steeps I can smell the nutty flavor and it makes feel warm and cozy before I even start drinking it. It reminds me of when you walk down the streets of Manhattan when it’s cold and all the vendors are selling roasted nuts. The longer it steeps, the more that sweet apple smell starts to come through and I can’t wait for it to cool down just enough for me to drink it. The pink color never fails to surprise me, but it must be from the beetroot.
For such a strong smell, the tea is smooth and subtle. The nutty flavor definitely comes through, but there’s a hint of sweetness. Not overpoweringly sweet, but it’s such a perfect combination. It can taste a tad watery at times, so sometimes I just let the tea bag sit in the cup while I drink it. I haven’t had that ‘over steeped’ taste once because of it, either. If I were to have any staple herbal tea in my collection, this would be it. I have two more cups of this left and I know I will be going back for more. I wish herbals could be re-steeped. (I tried with this one and it just came out like flavored water)
