The comfortable sweater of teas. I bought this to serve a purpose as one of my pre-bed teas. However, I never expected it to be THE tea for me to wind down to. It’s comforting and my love for it happened slowly and gradually. It usually takes me over a year to finish teas because I have such a variety to choose from. However, I finished this one faster than any in recent memory.

I don’t necessarily know if the valerian is working, but hey, maybe there is a placebo effect. Furthermore, I love mint teas in the evening. I usually hate hibiscus in teas, but the other flavours (mint, valerian, lemongrass) mask it.

Flavors: Herbaceous, Lemongrass, Peppermint

I like my tea unsweetened and strong. This is due mostly to my upbringing. I like the second steep almost as much as the first.

Sweetener: Almost never. Prefer honey or even maple syrup if I must.
Milk: Chai definitely, orange pekoe, some other blends, but in general, I skimp on the milk too.

In the summer, I brew ice tea cold in the fridge, no sweetner of course.

Favourites: Not a definitive list. I grew up on Chinese teas so I tend to favour them.

Blacks: Oolong, Assam, Ti Kuan Yin, Yunnan
Greens: Lung Ching, Sencha
Blends: Earl Grey, Chai, Lady Grey, Prince of Wales
Tisanes: Mint, Licorice, Honeybush
