The official David's Tea 24 teas of Christmas thread. Spoilers of the current day's tea!

The tea for the first was Forever Nuts. Since I’m not a nut person it went to the trade box.

I vowed I would give all 24 a try. Sometimes they seem by the look and smell of something I won’t like but then I give it a sip and its not too bad! I bought David’s calendar for a few years now and have enjoyed trying them.

I’m actually going to try it tonight. I was reading the reviews of it and think I might like it. So other than coconut teas, I’ll try them all.

I actually really like Forever Nuts and I didn’t think I would. It reminds me of muffins with fruit and crumble. I suggest trying it with boiling water for a few minutes. My mother-in-law adds sugar and milk and says it tastes like strawberry quick. That’s not my thing, but I do like it solo!

I think this tea should be called Turkish Apple instead. I really like it but it’s more apple than nuts.

So glad that I found some tea peeps with the calendar as well! I had one a few years ago and I haven’t really been following David’s Tea new releases ever since so I’m hoping to find some big surprises in here!

Yes :) I’m so so lucky to be able to enjoy DavidsTea in Scotland! I’m pretty sure I’m the only person in the country to have the calendar :D

Did anyone else have to go to drastic measures to open the Forever Nuts tin? My lid was practically glued on and I wound up taking a hammer to it… after twisting, turning, using a rubber grip, cutting the top open, and trying to dent the sides.

Bright side: I did enjoy the tea. Can’t wait for the others!

I remember this from the last time I got this calendar (I think it was 2011…) I was quickly reminded this morning when I struggled with my Vanilla Chai lid for about 15 minutes, hoping someone else would get to the office early to help! I think it’s just a quirk with the tins. Tough going when we’re looking to dive into the daily treat :)

…I couldn’t get mine open at all. I even tried pliers. Considering trying to knock out the top plastic to get at it. Curious, I walked away (so as not to spoil it) and had someone else try open day 2, which, unfortunately, she says is also stuck. I really hope they’re not all like that!

So sad I missed out on this. Ah well, I suppose I’ll have to live vicariously through this thread. ;)

My friend called me and thanked me for the gift but said she couldn’t get the lid off and had to go find some rubber gloves and it did eventually open!!

We ended up having to use wire cutters to get ours open. On the plus side our toddlers loved the tea as did I.

… Then the boyfriend got home and twisted it off like it was nothing. -. – I can’t even…

hahah sometimes it really just takes walking away for a bit and coming back with a fresh set of hands! I struggled for so long this morning and was just about to admit defeat when I set it aside. A few moments later, I decided to give it another try and it came right off like it was nothing! Go figure :)

I had a rough time with my lid yesterday, and again today. This is right on par with what I remember the last time I got the calendar. lol. At least we know the tea is fresh?

Today: Vanilla Chai. Smells artificial, tastes a bit artificial. Wouldn’t buy it, but I’m glad I got to try it.
