New rare & delicious limited ed. Dan Cong 2007 added to 50% off sale for a very limited time
Hi Steepsters,
We are continuing with our introduction of a rare&delicious tea with our last featured item for Cyber Monday.
After the positive reception for the rare Yabao Pu’er, we decided to include a final featured item that will genuinely interest you.
A Fenghuang Dan Cong 2007 Limited Ed. tea – http://bit.ly/dancongTFB
This is an aged Dan Cong we think you guys might like. It fits the same description of “rare” as the last one, but definitely more delicious with prevailing notes of peach, lychee and even mango (all-natural) which is bound to astound anyone new to this limited ed. tea.
Also, 50% off with free shipping on 8.8oz (250g) packs
Thanks heaps guys, enjoy!
Oh, shoot, I just placed an order without realizing there was a code!
Uh oh. Would it help if you received a sample to compensate? Sorry about that! It’d help if you could quote the order no. just to be sure
I’m trying to place an order and want 250 grams with the free shipping and used the coupon but it continued to charge me for the shipping. I didn’t place the order yet just want to confirm that it is free shipping. thanks
Hi again gschuschke, yes it is free shipping to US, UK, CAN, FRA for the Dan Cong and more selected items only. If your preferred tea carries the “+ free shipping” after the size, then it definitely qualifies for zero charges when checking out. Let me know if the problem occurs again and I’ll have a look one more time. Sorry about the hassle
It still charges me the $5.00 for shipping but does take off the $4.50 for using the steepsters code.
OopsI spoke too soon. If I try to place an order it tells me that there are no shipping methods available for my cart or destination and it won’t let me continue.
It is regretful that we have been met with such a terrible issue in the systems. We are working to fix this and hope to have good news as soon as we can. Your patience would be very much appreciated at this point and I’m sorry for the trouble
It should now work with the free shipping, however not the promo code unfortunately – sorry
I would like to include free samples for bearing with us, so please do let me know here when/if you have ordered, thanks
I am trying to order to with the same problems with shipping. I probably shouldn’t order since I’ve already placed one but you’ve enticed me in with another tea!
I still can’t get the shipping to work even removing the discount code. I’ve got a busy day and might not get a chance to order later.
We are guilty as charged, Ubacat!
Regarding the shipping malfunction, I’ve tried the checkout myself but there doesn’t seem to be a problem for me but then I’m not my customer and since you’ve made time for us in your busy schedule we are very thankful, we are now gonna try and workout a special discount code for all 3 of you that commented here about the issue so you can shop conveniently thereafter.
Oh that’s so nice! Thanks! I was trying to order some of the Yabao tea too since I was placing a 2nd order. I have a feeling once I try the sample I’m gonna want more.
I’ll check back in later today.
The problem seems to occur as a result of multiple items being placed in the basket even if the second item is eligible for free shipping. Please understand that ‘free shipping’ is a special ‘discount’ in itself too. And therefore cannot be used in conjunction with another although it has no impact on the final sales value. I’m also figuring this out now through the issues. So if you’d like to order both, I would really appreciate if you could use one order per 250g of tea. But of course your multiple orders will be shipped together. Im very sorry for this confusion. And in case you decide to purchase only Dan Cong and if any of these errors repeat, I will reveal the unique discount code for you to get 15% off which would bring down your total order value to $29.
As I promised you yesterday to include a Yabao sample due to missing out last time, and since you have decided to order Yabao now I thought I’ll include a sample of something else to keep my end of the understanding.
Thank you Ubacat, and my pleasure! Hope you enjoy the tea and look forward to your thoughts on them
I’ll try again! One of my favorite teas is a Fenghuang Dan Cong. Harney and Sons has a great one with notes of peach and lychee but have not found another that does it for me so I have high hopes with this one!
That’s great. Since this is aged for a while the taste profile is deeper, so I hope you can try this soon as we get this huge problem fixed. Due to the time of the night, we have to wait a bit before its resolved. I’ll notify you soon as its fixed. Really appreciate your patience and continued interest!
I tried it again and still am charged 5 for shipping and -4.50 for coupon so total comes to $30.49 instead of $25.49.
Hi, just letting you know the free shipping must work just fine now at checkout – but unfortunately not the promo code. Sorry for the hassle
I go to bed finally waiting for this to get figured out and wake up to find out its sold out!!
Sorry about that, it was looking fine until the few 250g packs that were left had all sold in a small span of time. But I’ve now added some stock back reducing the 100g packs for you. Could not allow the Don Cong fan to miss out! It’s all good now :)
placed an order, didn’t want it to sell out again without getting it. Just got the free shipping.
Thank you for being oh so patient, really! Haven’t been able to get enough of the taste of this for a while, I hope you will feel the same. Look forward to hearing about your experience when the tea arrives
I’ve been watching this thread and wavering hard. Partly due to the errors the first time I tried to order. It’s decision time. 250g is a lot of tea! Can someone give me an idea of how long an aged tea like this would keep? Is there some level of roasted flavor, since it’s aged? So many questions! XD
Good to have you on board Reki275! Well it would keep for 10 to 15 years if stored under the right conditions, but the thing with this aged Dan Cong is its delicious now and cannot see its taste getting any better than it is at present. After having been aged for quite some time now the flavor profile seems to be at its peak! It has very little roasted flavor because its only been lightly roasted.
Next questions? :)
Well, I mulled it over between this and the Yabao, and I’m going to take a chance on this. Order placed! Just wish I could have tried both. Is there any chance I could partake of the sample you’ve offered a couple of others people? Excited either way. This will be my first aged oolong!
Absolutely! I’ll be sure to toss in a Yabao sample for you, and we plan to have other varieties of Yabao added in the future so you won’t miss out. Thanks for your order and I’m sure you will enjoy it! Just no boiling water please :)
I just wanted to post on here that when I placed my order for Dan Cong 2007 and Yabao the offer was free shipping and an extra discount (I think it was 15% off). The discount didn’t work and I thought I was promised free samples which I never got. I sent two emails but no response.
I had the same experience. I never got my Yabao or refund for the free shipping (or any kind of other sample)… I wrote them twice and never heard back. The tea showed up at my door about a week ago… without an invoice or anything. I had to look up my order online to check it.
On a side note, i didn’t feel like the tea was packaged well, it was tossed around a lot and didn’t have any padding… when I opened a bag of it most of the leaves were broken. I was incredibly disappointed with my experience of this company, and am glad to hear it isn’t just me… on the other hand some people seem to be having great experiences.
So far the tea has been pretty good. I tried the Dan Cong 2007 but haven’t left a review yet. Somehow it wasn’t quite as amazing as I was expecting but I know sometimes brew temperatures & times all make a difference so I thought I would give it another try before I leave a review. I haven’t tried the Yabao yet but some of the other teas were quite good. I can’t remember now what the packaging was like but I didn’t have a problem with it. I’m just a bit frustrated they are not following through on their promise of free extra teas to compensate for the discount not working.
I just replied to your PM Ubacat, sorry once again for the accidental swap.
Miss Phi, its regretful to hear you didn’t receive a reply as I ensure I reply to each and every message I receive across all social media sites and email. I’m sorry for this shortcoming.
I understand the tea from China took a long time to come from China for many customers. We have always shipped from San Francisco, CA. But just this time we decided to ship the tea we bought fresh from China just few days before Thanksgiving, straight out of China. This caused huge delays that were unanticipated by us, especially due to misplacement of some shipping labels. I believe the delayed logistics may have also caused leaves to break. I’m very sorry about this. It was a lesson learned and we have now decided to only ship from San Francisco, CA and be quick to reach everyone (2-5 days for US orders, 6-7 for CAN).
Also the reason why we didn’t include an invoice for the orders from China were to be careful not to cause parcels to be held by the customs and cause an inconvenience to you.
I’m sorry you had a bad first impression with us, if there’s anything I can do, please let me know.
I did get my free samples- but I have tried to reach them to ask about one of the samples they sent me- yiuw moonlight 2011. It’s fabulous and I want more but no one has answered my emails either. I sent them through their website.
I only just got the chance to reply to your email. I’m glad you liked the sample that much.
I haven’t done a review on it but it is really nice!! I will be getting some when it comes out!! I have been really pleased with the various teas I got from them during black friday. My husband who is not generally a tea drinker has been drinking the teas also!
