Everyday oolong?
Normally I drink about 6-12 cups of tea a day and I was looking a decent blend/brand of oolong that wouldn’t bust the budget , normally I drink a black tea that runs about $10 for 8.8oz..I realize an oolong in that amount would cost a little more but that’s just the ballpark number. Thanks!
Do you have a bulk store near you that sells tea? If you’re looking to pay just over $1/oz, that’s probably your best bet. Locally I have a bulk store that sells Metropolitan Tea Co teas for about $1.50/oz, and Bulk Barn which has a selection of very decent teas, including some flavoured oolongs for <$1/oz. Maybe there’s something similar in your city?
If you have a Chinese market near by, you might also check there.
I’m assuming you want loose leaf. If so, this is the best deal I know about. The tea is fantastic as well, very high quality. 5 grams should get you a solid 4 or 5 cups with proper infusion technique. I’m usually getting 10-12 3 oz gaiwan steeps with just about 3 or 4 grams.

the Formosa is $7 for 5 oz. the Honey is $10 for 5 oz. I like both a lot
I use the Teavana Perfectea how many steeps should i get from 1 tsp of tea?
Depends on how much water you’re using, the temp, the length of time steeped and your personal preference for strength. Some people never re-steep, some let it go til there’s nothing left. A safe rule of thumb to is to steep with the same parameters as your first but with a bit more time. If still weak, a bit higher temp or the addition of a bit of fresh leaf should help.
I’ll second the chinese supermarket idea – I got lots of canisters of loose tea (about 250g I think) for around £3 each.
Tried a local Asian Market ..but no loose leaf oolong ..settled on a box of baggged oolong for now but they DID have a tin of jasmine tea I picked up
Aliexpress has a ton of inexpensive teas. I’ve actually found some really great teas from there too. Without knowing what kind you’re interested in here are a few I found…

I think Royal Tea Bay on E-bay has some great oolongs (along with loads of other teas). I haven’t had a bad tea from them yet and what makes it even better is FREE SHIPPING. Yes, free shipping, even on one item. I don’t have to overbuy to get my cart up to a certain amount.
I have recently gotten some reasonably priced Oolongs from Dragon Tea House. Some of their teas are very inexpensive and surprisingly decent. You won’t get an incredible Da Hong Pao for $12 at 250g but is is drinkable. I have reviewed several of their Oolongs recently.
If you can get your hands on a box of Shui Hsien by Sea Dyke Brand, it is a great everyday Wuyi Oolong. I get a box at my local Asian Market that is I think around 4oz for $2.
You could always try setting up a trade with someone who has a local Asian Market with good tea, I am sure someone might be willing to pick you up something fun.
I’ve only had their wuyi teas but the Oolong’s I’ve had from here have been resilient and flavourful.http://www.aliexpress.com/store/808949
