I used to play a Japanese MMO that had guilds, and a lot of folks picked English names either for their guild or their avatar. The names very often just were just “off,” no other way to say it. For example, one guild was called Love Song. I mean, I could envision a name like “Free Love” or “Lovers Unite,” but Love Song? The worst of it was, for all the English names people picked, if you tried to chat in English, people would tell you to leave. But the upside was I learned how to type kanji.
