Yay! I’m hoping to visit the store for the first time in two weeks on vacation. I’d rather do that than order it online. It’s such a good deal too! I think I’m going for jasmine tea.
What did you get?
I got the things I haven’t tried yet (mostly :P), so : Matcha Matsu, Caramel Corn, Hot Tropics and Magic Dragon. I also wanted to try their Grand Cru Matcha but it is no longer on their website (sneaky….) :( Now I have a leftover balance of 99 points (GAH! Couldn’t I spend just ONE MORE DOLLAR?! :P ) so I already know I have another 50g bag coming to me in three months: yay! I don’t buy much from them anymore, but I do have a few favourites that I just need to have at all times. And I always buy the tea of the month and the full collection. And new teaware. On second thought, maybe I do buy quite a bit from them lol. I guess I should say I don’t buy much tea there anymore…
Their butterfly jasmine is really really really good :)
This is the one I think I’ll get
So when you redeem you don’t have to buy 50g of one tea? Right? I would only buy Pumpkin Chai of this amount. But it’s to earlier for that
According to the rules 100 points = 50 of any one tea – 200 points = 2 × 50g of any tea. Not sure if they will be flexible in store, I would ask, but this is how it’s worded on the web site:
Every 100 points = 50 g (Canada) or 2 oz (USA) of any tea free
So, if you earn 200 points you get two 50 g bags (Canada) or two 2 oz bags (US) of any tea for free!
Do you have to wait till they email you first for you to email them?
Because like I have 109 points on my account…
As soon as the rewards appear on your account you can redeem them. Check your account at https://www.davidstea.com/frequent-steeper
Oh okay. And I just gotta email them right?
You can redeem your points in store or by emailing them at:
frequentsteeper (at) davidstea.com
If you are unable to come into a store to claim your free loose leaf tea, you can email [email protected] and we will arrange to have your tea delivered to you. Shipping your tea will cost $5, unless you qualify for free shipping when you spend $50 with us.
It is my understanding that you can only redeem when you get the email that informs you that you can redeem your points. They send one every three months, and you have 60 days after the e-mail reception date to redeem or you lose your points.
That’s correct Virginia – but there are people on the FB page saying that they didn’t get an email but their “points page” on their account is showing that their rewards are available. If you didn’t get an email in the last couple of days you should check your account – as long as the rewards are showing available, you can redeem them. But yes – you should get an email saying that they are available for redemption. :))
OoOoOoOooOH! Okkk now I get what you meant :P
Does davidstea ever offer free shipping on no minimum? I see they offer free shipping on over $50 but not looking to spend that much. Also, don’t want to buy what I need and pay for the shipping. Just wondering.
Yep, only on $50 and over. I wish they’d get more in the US. I’m hoping to go to the one in Chicago soon.
Bummer! That’s the only thing stopping me from ordering from them. Oh well, maybe in a couple years when I need enough stuff to go over the $50. Lol but then again, with the great sales and free shipping offered around by other companies, I might never get to the point I need to order over $50 from them. Lol. It’s already been a while I’ve had my eyes on a couple of things from them.
I always like to get free shipping too. It took awhile before I ordered from them. I started by getting some of their teas in swaps so I could try smaller amounts. That’s what I like about going in store. You have to get a minimum of 2oz online but in store you get whatever you want.
Tea Junkie, you could try going halfies with someone on a purchase. Like if you know someone who likes teas and is curious about the same teas, you could split the amounts like say by half.
There are some times during the year where they’ll have a no minimum free shipping promo (took advantage of it last year), but usually I get friends to place their order with mine so it’s over $50
Actually, I don’t think they’ve ever offered that. It’s just the $5 flat rate (which really isn’t bad), or free over $50.
Tea Junkie: I have a ton of David’s Tea (not all in my cupboard, in fact most of it is currently unlisted) I can do a swap or even just send you some if you are interested. What teas were you looking for?
Ellyn
That kinda stinks that the points expire so quickly. I don’t live anywhere near a store so I’d have to pay for shipping which kinda takes away the appeal of rewards and earning tea.
Has anyone received their rewards for the July/Aug/Sept months? I should have 300points turned in to rewards. I just checked my balance cuz I was planning on doing an order and I see my points have been deducted but I don’t show any rewards!!!
