Lol, lucky you…I received an order just this week, but I’m not complaining, I got pretty much everything on sales, just not at 50% !!

But now I am really stocking up!!

I got the Green Gold on sale. It’s delicious. Brews really sweet at lower temp like 160 and gets better each steep. I’m on round 8 or 9 right now and wondering when the leaves are going to give up.

I bear witness to MzPriss not being able to keep it to 4 ounces of Special Dark :) I’ve been bagging up so much of that this morning that I am now treating myself to some post stir-fry lunch!

The Special Dark is the most accessible ripe pu’er I’ve ever had. Give a rinse first. It is so very adaptable and forgiving of pretty much whatever you do to it and it will still be great. It’s amazing gong-fu style – amazing, but a whole lot of the time I steep it western style for 7 minutes – which I think I got from Terri. It might freak you out to go 7 minutes, but you totally can it won’t be bitter. Smooth chocolate love.

Between TheTeaFairy’s recent notes on both Special Dark and Temple Stairs, when I saw this post, I knew I had to hop on over and check it out! But some of the other pu-er on the page with mention of mushroom and leather kind of scare me. What does leather even taste like?

i like nobla mark and Imperial Dark Bulang Gong Ting – 2009 in addition to the other two you’re looking at heh. old tea nugget is nice as well

Unfortunately, I went to do something and my shopping cart emptied out, so I have to start over… Perhaps that was a divine sign telling me to make sure that I actually like pu-erh. Okay, I’m going to be a little prudent here. I’m going to try a couple of true pu-erhs (not blends) before placing my order…

The looseleaf varieties do not stink like horse manure, so I’ll give them a shot. I bought some tuo chas (sp?) from Upton years ago, and they were so repulsive smelling that I never mustered up the courage to try them. By now they are probably haute vintage. lol

Sherapop, if you are unsure, go with Temple Stairs and Noble Nark. They are on the light side, might be a good way to start. But at this price, you should also get Special Dark. It’s richer and stronger but so chocolaty, it is worth taking a chance :-)

You really really really should get some of the Special Dark – especially at this price. It’s deep and dark – but it’s fishy or nasty at all – it’s blissful.

I realize now that the only fishy and dirty puerh I’ve had were of lower grades at the beginning when I obviously did not know who to order from. But you can’t go wrong here!!! Can’t wait to read your reviews :-)
