Which Geeky Mugs Do You Want?
These ones aren’t actually meant to be cups and used, but they’re very cool.
I use hers…..and am waiting on a custom angler fish mug!! Can’t wait!! https://www.etsy.com/shop/skeletaldropkick
I did really want Andrew and Dunham’s camping mug, but I kept putting off buying it, and they finally discontinued it. I still regret it.
This is me in the morning.

My Troy and Abed in the Morning mug came in the mail a couple weeks ago!
And I’ve got my QualiTEA mug from Charlie:

And then add my massive collection of Disney mugs hehe :) Well, it’s not massive, more like 13ish, but that’s like a dozen more than my roommates haha. I’ve been meaning to take a photo of all my mugs, but I’m still waiting on my topsy turvy mug, which I broke about a month ago, but I’m definitely buying another one once I get my discounts :)
Dude. I just really love my mugs okay.
I’m working on my Disney mugs, and by working on, I mean I just bought one a couple weeks ago! For some reason I never thought of checking for mugs from Disney. And of course looking on Google pulls up all these awesome mugs that aren’t sold anymore
Dude. I love my Troy and Abed mug! It’s like the perfect size. QualiTEA is a tad small, and a lot of Disney mugs do tend to run on the larger side.
Disney mugs are my life okay. They’re just so bright and uniquely shaped, that they’re just beautiful to look at. Even though I can only use one mug at a time, I display them on my bookshelf for everyone to see :)
I don’t know if this one qualifies as a geeky mug … I guess I’m an art geek? I had one like this, and it broke last year and I’m still mourning the loss of it.
Art geek here too. YES that’s a nice geeky mug :D
I’m not a fan of Van Gogh but at least it’s not Warhohl. XD
And Starry Night was my favorite of his works (like … everyone haha)
If I were going to have an art mug, I’d probably have something by someone totally not famous, like someone from Deviantart who just does some pretty art that I like. Famous art… very little of it ever called to me so much. I did four years of an illustration major, and as awesome as the “masters” are, I can’t connect to their work the way I can connect to some of the artists I love now.
Not everyone can. That’s the true beauty of art is that we all can interpret it our own way and it doesn’t mean the same things to everyone. Van Gogh touched me because I can see the pain in his brushstrokes. Before I even knew much about his life, I could see that pain and that shook me and spoke to me in a way that no other artist could. I felt like he was speaking to my soul.
I can understand that. I get that more from music than visual art. But I get it from some artists… just more some than others.
I amusingly connected more with Van Gogh after the Van Gogh episode of Dr Who than ever before that… and I don’t even really much care for Dr Who… I just happened to make an interesting mental connection at that point.
I’ve long had an interest in Van Gogh, in that his works were my favourite. Then the Doctor Who episode really piqued my interest and then I read a few novels based loosely on him and became enthralled. One of my favourite things is my mounted print of his sunflowers (with the aqua-ish background).
I have a pretty great longaberger mug at home. I also may purchase some stuff from Heath ceramics. not geeky in the traditional sense but I geek out over minimalism.
I know I’ve posted this one before, but it’s still, hands down, the coolest mug I’ve ever seen in my life.

I like walking it by my friend at work because she’s so freaked out by the weeping angels. It also has a tiny tardis on the other side!
show her this picture…. it’s from san diego comic con last year. I couldn’t look at them and had to go behind them to get in the photo…. and I didn’t even know what they were!! I know now!!! http://instagram.com/p/cFhunKgnC8/
Eee I have seen those before but forgot about them. I want one XD But I think I recall they are expensive.
I had something like that once where there was a cow in the bottom looking reproachfully up at you as you drank. It wasn’t very suitable for use, though, because it was a hassle like you wouldn’t believe to clean with all the nooks and crannies.
I have these mugs from Roy Kirkham http://www.chinacraft.co.uk/images/Product/medium/272518.jpg (2 of each. Well, 3 of the sheep.) and the tea-for-one set in the same design http://www.woburn-china.com/images/D/Please%20Shut%20the%20Gate%20Tea%20for%20One.jpg The pot had a big crack in it, though, so it can no longer be used (something which caused no end of sadness when it was discovered)
And one of these

This is my favourite. If it’s clean I always take this one. I would have liked to have had more of this design as well, but alas, I was late to the party for that one.
And these tea-for-one sets replacing the cracked Shut the Gate set

Hey, there’s a cup included. It’s close enough!
I would very much like to replace all our tableware with pretty RK porcelain, but Husband won’t let me. It’s fine with cutesy and girly for cups, but not for an entire plate set. Oh well. I suppose I can see his point there. Still, though… :)
