Breville one touch owners...
Has anyone else seen this?
I’ve had my One Touch for almost 3 years now and while I have a cleaner that works (Mandala Tea has a general teaware cleaner that is awesome!), my boyfriend’s parents need something for theirs. I think this might be a nice little accessory Christmas gift for them, along with some new teas.
I figure since this is Steepster and all, maybe someone here has tried it and can offer some feedback. Yay for random Amazon searches!
I just use half a lemon. Bring the kettle to the boil with the lemon half in it and allow it to cool completely before rinsing out a few times. :)
Hmm Never saw that but it seems instersting. You can use citric acid I’ve heard. Zojirushi brand makes a water heater cleaner (which I believe is only citric acid) that works well for Breville as well.
Since it’s made and marketed by Breville themselves for the Tea Maker, I really don’t see why it wouldn’t be good for it. But I cannot say that I have tried it myself.
if it turns out citric acid is safe, you can get big tubs of it for cheapcheapcheap at places like restaurant supply shops.
I believe that the owners manual discusses cleaning with lemon…I just double checked, page 27-instructions for cleaning with lemon or baking soda. I am sure this stuff would be fine, but lemon/soda are a heck of a lot cheaper!
Hi guys!
Sorry this took a bit, but I just wanted to update you all on the Breville cleaner in case you were curious. I ended up getting it because my boyfriends parents had the most disgusting Breville One Touch (it was BROWN you guys – solid BROWN).
Long story short, if you need a cleaner and have tried everything the company recommends, this is expensive but WORTH IT. One of the packets got rid of every single stain and turned it back to its original spotless condition, without any scrubbing. I don’t know how it works but it most definitely does.
Thanks so much for all your help and feedback!
Thanks for the update, didn’t even realize Breville made this. What are the ingredients in it? I usually use a mixture of cream of tartar, citrus acid, baking soda, vinegar, whatever I have around the house and soak it overnight. Seems to do the trick, but I have to scrub the “brown” off of it. If this saves time, I’m all for it.
