Your favorite holiday/Christmas teas?
Hello please I would like reccomendations for your favorite holiday/Christmas teas?
I am not sure if it is still a favorite, but my mom always made the two of us Constant Comments or some suitably orange spiced black tea around the holidays.
I do love drinking Lapsang Souchong at Christmas because it reminds me of warm fireplaces and nostalgia.
I just re-discovered Constant Comments today! I had tried it once as a child, did not like the spices, and hadn’t had it since. But this morning at work, I found a bag and decided to give it another go. It was a very nice way to warm up! I found the spices and orange to be in a good balance with each other. I will definitely be stocking up on this for the chilly mornings to come!
Haven’t tried too many holiday teas myself yet, but one that has been a favorite for several years is Celestial Seasoning’s Candy Cane Lane.
Butiki’s Potato Pancakes and Apple Sauce! It’s one of my absolute favorite teas. Their Eggnog also gets a lot of praise from Steepsterites, but I have not tried it myself.
Yes!! The fact a latke tea exists at all anywhere makes me happy, and that it’s so tasty and changes flavor profile depending on whether you add sugar or salt is just icing on the (potato pan)cake!
I would love to try the eggnog sometime if it is anything like the real eggnog…love the stuff :)
I had their Creamy Eggnog tea for the first time yesterday, and it was amazing – but not eggnog. It’s definitely the best, most creamy vanilla tea (think Breyer’s extra creamy French Vanilla ice cream) I’ve ever had though.
My current blog project is about holiday teas, and this link will take you to the full list of teas I’m reviewing as well as links to their reviews:

From what I’ve enjoyed so far, I think the top picks for me would have to be:
- The Earl of Anxi by Verdant Tea (Tieguanyin and frankincense!)
- Organic Candy Cane by Simpson & Vail
- Pumpkin Creme Brulee by Butiki Teas (think creme brûlée crust on pumpkin pie)
I have not tried Candy Cane, as I am not much of a minty tea kind of person,
But the other two are Fab, Fab, Fab :-)
Yeah, me neither, but this one surprised the heck out of me by actually winning me over.
That sounds like a winner,, if you are not a minty tea person,
and still enjoy it that much :-)
I love the pumpkin flavor, and I love it for the entire season.
A warm cinnamon and nutmeg pumpkin pie in my cup…
truly YUM & always appreciated.
Oh, and there are some pumpkin teas which far exceed these two, but
these two are the friendly, affordable, every day version of my seasons favorite.
Important considerations to be sure! I’m looking forward to seeing how the various pumpkins compare. Should be interesting!
I much prefer pumpkin offerings from other places (Capital Teas and Pleasures of Tea mostly) than the Sweet Harvest Pumpkin. That tea is way too sweet for me, and I think it contains an artificial sweetener.
John12…
I prefer other teas as well, but I am thankful for the less expensive teas as well.
I love (blood) orange tea during December. At times, I make it spicy with cardemon or clover.
I love Bigelow’s Eggnogg’n this time of year (especially with eggnog instead of milk – yum!), but I have not tried Butiki’s Creamy Eggnog. I believe it was Jackson & Perkins that used to make a Plum Pudding tea that was amazing, dark and rich, but I can’t find it anymore. Again Butiki has one :)
