Geek Pride Day Giveaway
I have finally created a sampler giveaway in order to “pay forward” my winning of Doulton’s Shakespeare box-o-tea. In honor of Geek Pride Day (May 25th) I am putting together a mystery box for a tea lover who enjoys adventure! One winner will be chosen on Geek Pride Day and the box should go out before the 1st of June. You might want to take a peek at my cupboard to get a general idea of what you could be receiving. If you really hate oolongs, florals, or lapsang souchongs, then this might not be the best contest for you.
The winner will receive a mystery box filled with numbered mystery packages. All of the smaller packages may or may not contain tea samples. Included in the main box will be a good old fashioned 20 sided die. If you’ve never played D&D, then this is a crazy-looking die comprised of, well, 20 sides. The winner will roll the die to see which mystery package he or she gets to open. Rolling high numbers is the goal. Rolling 1’s will be about as bad as when someone rolls a 1 during battles in D&D (it’s rarely a good thing).
I will send the winner all the “rules” of this game inside of the box. Okay, so they aren’t truly rules. They’re more like my wishful guidelines. I can’t be a true Dungeon Master and oversee that this game is being played fairly. Ultimately it’s my hope that the winner has fun.
Contest Rules: You do not have to be a geek to enter, but if you belong to Steepster, then it’s highly likely that you’re a “tea geek.” ;)
If you enter, then I take it as an agreement to participate in the game aspect of the prize. We can remain in contact via PM if you’d like to adjust things. I’ve already spent a lot of time and energy with creating this contest and would feel hurt if my efforts were for naught.
Please send me a PM on the day that the prize reaches you to notify me whether the package is in good condition or not. If you chose not to PM me, then know that you will be considered ineligible for future contests that I may hold.
How to Enter: Just express your interest in this Discussion. That’s all! You have until midnight on May 24th to enter. I am willing to ship internationally. Woohoo!!!How Winners are Chosen: I want to have a little extra fun! It’s been a couple of years since I last played D&D so I want to roll dice for the winner. It’ll be as random as any computer, but it’ll take a bit longer for me to determine a winner. The winner will be announced sometime before midnight on May 25th.
I’ve tried to keep this main topic quasi-brief while also making you aware of what you may be getting into if you win. Please don’t hesitate to ask me questions: think of me as a Dungeon Master who’s hiding behind a laptop instead of a paper screen.
Good luck to all and may the Schwartz be with you!
I’d like to enter! My husband used to play tons of Magic The Gathering, not D&D, but I think he would still be totally into drinking tea in this manner if I should win! (He has since turned his gaming towards Axis and Allies :)
I’ve gotta tell you that I came close to doing a “choose your own adventure” style tea contest where the surprise would be that takes place in JacquelineM’s tea cupboard world!
When I started to consider the logistics I had to let the idea go :(
may the Schwartz be with you!
TOTALLY LOVE THIS!!!! LOL
:)
DH and I often say this…we have a friend who has the last name so we joke about it often!!!!
AHH!!!! HOW COOL! I’m all over this! I’m totally a geek! (Husband is a gamer, we’re both in the SCA, and I grew up attending science fiction conventions)
Sci Fi Conventions! Awesome!!!! Ever go to Stargate, Battlestar, or Xena Conventions!?
Mostly just generic ones. Althought I’m going to a Neil Gaiman thingie this October, and I’m planning to hit the North American Discworld Convention next year.
I did have Anne McCaffery eat dinner at my house once as I was growing up.
I’m totally a geek. I spend my entire days (except weekends) writing code and drinking tea. I want to play!
You had me at D&D, man I have not gotten to play in ages!
Ps-Being my name is Nicole Schwartz i hear may the schwartz be with you way to often, i tend more twoard “have fun storming the castle”
It’s been several years for me and I miss it. And I mean old school D&D, not the newer versions ::patooie!::
So sorry about the Schartz thing :( But, I gotta say: Princess Bride FTW!
Bah, i played a little 2nd, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, the rules are there to be tweaked anyway, house rules are always best :)
What game i really enjoy when run well is shadowrun, but they also went and tinkered with those rules too, never can leave good enough alone i guess
extra special bonus, i had princess buttercup’s wedding gown made for my wedding (which got delayed, but let’s not fuss on that)
