Tea cupping vs. tasting vs. other?

I was reading on of my daily blogs(http://www.starbucksmelody.com/2010/04/04/the-combo-cupping-tea-and-coffee-warmth-and-fun/comment-page-1/#comment-7289) and it mentioned Tea cupping. Now this isn’t a tea blog, it’s a coffee blog.

So who can tell me, other than enjoying your tea what other ways are there to experience it?

I know there is tastings (with the slurping mandatory), but are there other common ways to experience your tea to bring out attributes or qualities?
