Had a teeny patch of spearmint that I dried to add to plain iced and green teas; unfortunately, the heat wave got the best of it—I am no gardener—and I didn’t replant.
It wasn’t from my garden, but I’ve had dried orange mint before. Yummy!
My garden has chocolate mint, lemon balm, lavender, and a lovely eucalyptus that seems to have survived Memphis winters and is now becoming a tree. All I need to do now is import a koala bear or two. In the past I’ve grown borage, which makes a nice herb tea, and have tried without luck to grow chamomile.
Yum! I’d love chocolate mint. Where do you buy your seeds?
Once again, I am not a grow-things-from-seed kind of gal. I buy chocolate mint plants from a local nursery. Mint really isn’t fussy about growing. I spent $2-$4 at the nursery for the plant and now I have it forever.
I had a bunch of mints, rosemary, basil, marigolds, pansies and violas, calendulas, sage, lavender. I am going to make rosemary tea this week. I had chamomile, but only enough for a 1/2 cup of tea!
I recently discovered rose tea after being terrified of drinking “grandma’s perfume”, in addition to the onese mentioned, which flowers are edible?
Does anyone know a really good place to get herb seeds cheap online? I’m especially looking for all the different kinds of mint.

I have a garden, but I’ll confess I didn’t grow anything for tea – I grew spearmint for Mojitos! and some other herbs for cooking. I should think about what I can use to flavor black iced teas – I’m a caffeine fiend! – for next year’s garden.
Does anyone in the US grow Honeybush? I was shocked to see that (and TONS of other world wide plants) growing at the Port Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Washington State.
