Show us your Tea Cupboard!
I love tea cupboard pictures! Inspired by Auggy & Lauren’s cupboards photos. I shove all my tea into a cardboard box, but I’ll organize them one day and post up a photo =]
My tea has roommates. Some of it is in drawers with little-used items I can hardly believe I own such as bundt pans, some of it is in a corner of the pantry, and some is in cardboard boxes in my home office waiting for some of the roommates to get kicked out so it can move in. Oh, and some of it (the tiny samples) are actually on the kitchen counter in a little decorative bowl so I have a chance of keeping track of them.
I guess I could empty the closet full of computer games from the 90s and use that as a tea cabinet but then I’d have to find somewhere to put the games. And that would be a bad idea, because I’d have to buy a lot more tea to fill up that closet. ;-)
I was trying to find the original post (I thought) by TeaEqualsBliss that showed her beautiful tea shelves/tea cupboard with such pretty tins but I can’t find it so now I’m thinking it could’ve been Auggy who posted, as suggested by Ricky on the discussion blurb? Or maybe AmazonV (who always has beautiful photos documenting the tea experience du jour). But there’s a prodigious amount of posts by them so I couldn’t find the post to link, sorry!
Anyway, they always inspire me with their posts and one of them posted a photo of their cupboard which inspired me to post mine http://tinyurl.com/yfezks7. Thank you for the inspiration! That’s all I was trying to say in such a round-about-fashion!
I was inspired to add little Note things to all the teas in my photo as well.
I already had this up for a while, so it’s quite outdated already (I’ll take a new photo when I get home and post the new one), but here. My Tea Shelf (because I have no cupboards, sadly): http://www.flickr.com/photos/48201040@N02/4428995928/in/pool-steepster
Here is my BEFORE picture of my tea cupboard http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4043/4457775744_8cf424c07e_m.jpg
Okay here’s my AFTER picture (Yea I finally figured out how to cut and paste this link) http://www.flickr.com/photos/48612840@N07/4515331093/
Lauren’s cupboard inspired me.
SoccerMom, great cupboard!!! I left a comment on Flickr, too. May I ask what tea is on the 2nd shelf .. it’s the first glass tea cannister on the left … it’s like huge balls! Are they like display art teas? Though I think not because all mine come individually wrapped or two to a wrap. Quite intriguing.
Okay I figured out how to add the notes to each tin. Thanks to Ricky for getting me started!!
Hey – love the note thing you’re doing on Flickr! The Adagio Black Dragon Pearls are huge!
I REALLY need to organize my cupboard. I just have 2 baskets stuffed with foil packages….
I said I would one day =P I mean right now it’s a mess. I want to take some time and do a before and after when I have some time to actually organize it.
Tea cupboard! I see Starbucks! ;) Ohh GM’s stuff is in a cardboard box! What happened to the bamboo basket!
and here is some of my teapots and things, couldn’t resist

Ricky, i let my rabbits eat the bamboo basket! it’s gone gone gone
In fact i think they want me to get another
oh and yes I am a Starbucks addict, if i go one part over that’s all coffee (we have stove stop espresso machines etc etc, kinda insane about that too)
LOVE your photos (not just these, but all your blog entry photos, too!). Awww, you have some beautiful teaware (you must be good to your mom-in-law) and your dragon teapots are just charming!
SoccerMom wanted me to unpack my mess of a tea cupboard aka a square cardboard box. It’s all packed and ready to become a traveling teabox!

Organized, kinda… before it goes back into the box

Having a tea cupboard down in my kitchen with cups, kettle etc all right at hand is one of my fondest dreams (right after being gainfully employed and being finished with school). Alas a whole cupboard (or two!) devoted to tea isn’t possible right now, so I have my “Tea Box”, a nice wooden chest that I can keep in my bedroom (and away from tea-pilfering housemates!)

Finally gotten around to photographing and labeling the teas and teaware -

The general rule was always that I couldn’t get more until one of the tins was freed up, but I’m afraid I haven’t been very good at keeping to that!
Okay, so while I was in the process of moving, I went ahead and did a bunch of photographing that I meant to do and get to ages ago! So without further ado… (and it’s not really in a cupboard…)
Teapots (not including my two kettles and my three brass/stainless steel teapots, sadly in storage):
