Ooh, I like this! I just got a Breville var temp for Christmas though, so I’m not looking for a new one for a while. Thanks for posting though, very nice kettle!
My sis got me an amazon gift card so I figured I’d put it to good use ;)
My father in law got me an amazon gift card too and I picked up the Breville variable temp kettle. Yay for gift cards!
I considered this one, but settled for the Chef’s Choice Variable Temp one. Glad to hear that you are enjoying this one!
Oh man that is one I really want. I found it recently on Amazon and it is on my wish list for sure! Glad to year you like it.
It’s been awesome so far. Heats up in a flash too!
I got the same for Christmas and I have to second his review. Love the kettle for sure
A friend of mine who works for a coffee roastery got one and posted about it on Facebook not even 24 hours after my mom ordered me the Cuisinart variable kettle. I helped him out at a couple brewing things and I’d just get entranced by it (good thing I was the videographer, right?). The ability to set it down to the degree is just awesome and IS actually cheaper than the Cuisinart one right now! Silly Amazon bounce around on prices.
Hmmm. . . I was going to order a Breville but they can vary up to 10 degrees and this one is only 2 degrees. AND it’s much cheaper.
I’m feeling hesitant because of the plastic components.
Not sure what to say, if you lived closer I’d let you take a look at mine. Haven’t had any issues with the plastic parts. Honestly not sure how I could have an issue. Seems solid to me.
I’m watching youtube reviews. lol
Sad to say but my kettle has started to flake the coating inside and my lid is rusting, time for another, might try a different brand, who knows what things have been hiding in my brews, thank goodness I use a strainer.
Try reaching out to the manufacturer. I’ve had mine for years without any rust or flaking.
I’m going to share something.
I’ve had my kettle for a little under a year. By 2 months, I had rust spots and a rust ‘bubble’ coming from where the metal meets the plastic case. I put in a warranty claim at 4 months and they instructed me to trash the kettle and sent me a new one. The lid of the new one completely broke off (there was no torsion, no yanking, nothing but the button press) within two weeks. I intend to file a second warranty claim with them before my warranty is up, but still, two bad eggs out of two kettles is a pretty poor track record.
The problem is that I love it to death. I love the buttons and the accuracy and the hold, and the noise level. The only one I potentially would trade it with is the gooseneck model because it is smaller and more accurate to pour. I have a friend who has had their gooseneck bonavita for a number of years and had no problems.
I’m not sure what I want to do, other than collect bum kettles that wear out in less than a year and hope my final replacement actually lasts…
Mine has something wrong with the heating. It will glitch out and shut off at around 150F and need to be restarted. If I leave it holding at higher than 205F it will error and shut off too. I plan to review mine on the blog soon, I love the design but wish there wasn’t so many problems.
I’m pretty sure the error at 205F has been noted as an issue covered under warranty, as has the rusting issue. They will replace your kettle for the glitch if you fill out a warranty claim.
