2020 Tea Advent Calendar
Leros, Czech company, offers Advent Calendar with herbals only as well for only 99 CZK (4,26 USD). 23 tea bags + 1 surprise. Here a link: https://www.leros.cz/bylinny-kalendar-pro-adventni-cas
This is shipping from Calgary. There is a cheat list if you want to see what is included. There is a lot of oolong and white teas and some herbals all flavoured. https://theteagirl.com/collections/gifts/products/2020-advent-calendar-from-the-tea-girl
https://www.siam-teas.com/product/siamteas-tea-advent-calendar-box/. This is last year’s box. I’m not sure if they are doing one this year. If so there should be mostly straight teas.
Newby has an advent calendar up: https://www.newbyteas.co.uk/advent-calendar-2020.html
But, like last year, I have no idea how I would get it shipped to the US. But for those in the UK/Europe, it looks like it’s available for you!
Siam Tea is doing there box again and it is discounted the next three days. All unflavoured teas by the looks of it. https://www.siam-teas.com/product/siamteas-tea-advent-calendar-box/
It looks like T2’s is up on amazon—I haven’t seen it on their website: https://www.amazon.com/T2-Tea-World-Christmas-Countdown/dp/B08JLZBQH3?ref_=ast_sto_dp
Looks like the loose leaf version is sold out, but they just posted about their bagged version on IG.

This isn’t technically an advent- it’s 12 days and not a surprise, but it looks like a good way to try some new blends. $12.85 for 12 teas.

This looks really cool and pretty reasonably priced! Although the shipping is a bit steep…
I haven’t! They have a couple blends I’ve been wanting to try, so I’m finally going to go for it.
Dammann Freres tea advent calendar is out! https://www.dammann.fr/en/advent-calendar-2020.html
I got an email from Mariage Freres that their calendar will be out in a few days. I wish shipping from France wasn’t so expensive. :/
Does anyone remember how much it was last year? I recall is being pricey, but not the exact cost…
Unfortunately, a legacy brand like MF that caters to a primarily upper class customer base can practically charge whatever they want; the majority of their customer base will be swept up in the romanticized tea origin stories and not know better in terms of the ‘value’ of the tea…
I want to say it was 30 maybe 35 euros? Plus shipping, which I don’t recall the cost of. I had found it locally at once place for $70USD which I think was around the same price as if I had bought it directly from MF. Not worth it for 25 tea bags.
From last year’s thread… “It’s 39.00€ and 20 more for shipping to the states. I can’t justify that much in shipping for one item and you only get one teabag per day which makes it 2.45€ a teabag.”
Thanks Dustin – I thought it was under 40 euros, and looks like I was right. They increased the price this year then to 45 euros…
I think I’m gonna get it anyway; I had something European/French built into my advent plan for this year and I’ve probably had less than a half dozen MF teas (mostly the “big ones” like Marco Polo) so it’ll be a good crash course and will work for #adventaggedon on instagram…
They have a unique way of scenting their teas with steam. The result is very shiny leaves in the black teas. I’ve only had two of their teas. I really love their Christmas tea. It’s cherry almond and ginger. The base is very forgiving. The only other tea I’ve tried is Balade a Bretagne which is a caramel oolong. Which was nice but subtle and did best when steeping Grandpa style which I don’t usually do with flavoured teas but it came out the most buttery in flavour that way.
It sounds quite bearable even with shipping. Well, we will see. I would like to have at least two this year and don’t look much forward doing same Sonnentor as last year.
