I notice that with coffee and sometimes chocolate, which I don’t drink/eat all the time. But not tea! I will take time to smell my pee the next bathroom visit. ;) This is seriously an interesting topic though!
All in the name of science, right?
The VERY odd time that I drink coffee, I notice I smell a bit of coffee! Haha.
What you put in affects what comes out. Asparagus makes the urine stink to high heavens. Beet root or similar makes it bright red. Sometimes stool is loose, sometimes it’s less so. It all depends on what you put in. So yes, it sounds completely natural to me that this would apply to tea as well.
The only time I’ve noticed a change in scent is if I’m drinking an Indonesian purple, I’ve always thought it smelled like seaweed. Otherwise I usually notice that the color becomes lighter after I have consumed copious amounts.
I have never had Indonesian Purple. Sounds wonderful.
I notice that mine smells very strongly of ammonia after I drink chamomile teas. I drink a Trader Joe’s one that has that and peppermint in it, yummy, but almost not worth this side effect :/ Had the same thing with straight green teas before. I do fine with fruit-herbal teas & regular black teas though.
Yes it does! I thought I was crazy, then stayed off the Green Tea and Honey for a weak and as soon as I started drinking it again the strong odor came back. When I go to the Doctor I’m going to inquire since I heard it causes kidney stones.
