Which tea companies do you know are Canadian?
…those are rather interesting pages.
Couple of years ago I went to a seminar about the profitability of offering afternoon tea sets in the hotel industry…anyways, the lecturer brought some tea with her…she said its the most exclusive tea company in Canada. The tea was fantastic…well,as I said, I checked out the pages above. Davidstea…or Granville (although Granville seems to young for that kind of praise and reputation that the lecturer tried to plant into my mind) come pretty close to what I remember…
Can anyone help?
I’ve been to the Granville Island store multiple times and their teas rock in my opinion – especially their Iron Goddess of Mercy oolong and their Chocolate Mint Rooibos. I have no idea how long they’ve been around for but the owners and employees seems friendly and knowledgeable about their products.
I can’t help you with DavidsTea though as I’ve never been there. :)
I’d also be interested in hearing about “the most exclusive tea company in Canada”. (I can’t see it being David’s Tea, but who knows?)
Did the presenter give a location?
Best wishes,
Sherubtse
I just added pages today for Camellia Sinensis teahouse & teashop and Cha Guan, all based out of Montreal.

I took a look at the Cha Guan website, but couldn’t find any info on which teas they sell.
Do they sell loose leaf teas to the public?
Best wishes,
Sherubtse
The Cha Guan looks like a nice place! Look at their full shelf of yixing!! :-D What’s the price range of this place? I would love to visit next time I go to Montreal!
Cha Guan’s prices are quite reasonable. Not sure why they don’t have a full tea list on their site, but they do have a fairly extensive collection of Chinese teas. All of their teas are available for sale as loose-leaf to go as well. Great little shop; definitely check it out.
Hey there,
We’re Canadian. Based in Toronto we have been online for a few years and recently launched our first retail location in Burlington, Ontario.

Hi Dan:
Nice website. Too bad you don’t offer more non-flavoured, non-scented teas.
Best wishes,
Sherubtse
Hi Sherubtse,
Thanks for the feedback! We have introduced some excellent non-flavoured/scented teas at our retail location like gunpowder, japan sencha, Iron Goddess Oolong, Darjeeling, Assam. Just have to get them up on our website – I’m hoping to have it updated in the next week or so.
Hi Cait!
I’m glad you like the packaging :)
The tea shots are really popular at our retail location. Super easy to carry with you too. We’re hoping to roll out some other flavors in the coming weeks.
Just thought I would update that our site now has up more of our non-flavoured teas as well. What does everyone think about the navigation menu? Easy to use, or no? http://bit.ly/c5U0TY
Here is a story about the Tao Leaf Tea House, whose link I posted in this thread about a week ago:

Here is another Canadian tea company — new to me. They have an interesting selection of greens and matcha:

They are also offering 25% off if you became a fan via Facebook.

Check out The Tea Haus. They seem to offer quite a few teas at a good price. I want to try out the Canadian Breakfast and see what makes it different from the English version…
Google Sawadee Tea House, also on facebook as well. You may order teas directly from MIe Mie. She has 150 variety of teas and they are fresh. She has just returned from a trip of Asia. She has sourced out some wonderful teas that will be coming to Halifax very soon. I love the tea…and I recommend.
Seems like an interesting place. Too bad they don’t list the prices of all their teas on their website. Is this the premiere loose leaf tea house in Nova Scotia?
Best wishes,
Sherubtse
Sherubtse, Tks for checking out the site…the website is presently being overhauled and the prices will be made available. I have spoken w/the owners and they apologize and ask for your patience. The owners are wonderful and have worked tirelessly to provide premier, fresh, organic(when avail) teas to tea lovers here in Halifax. I am aware of a number of clients that have tea shipped to them around the world from Sawadee Tea House. In my opinion, this is THE place for tea in Nova Scotia!
