Tea & Books - What are you reading?
The Earth Remains Forever by Rob Jackson. I’m reading it as a class assignment, but I’m actually enjoying it so far.
Finally picked up Game of Thrones while I’ve been on break, and I’ve now finished that and halfway through Clash of Kings.
I read books on Wei-Chi or Go, which is a board game very old. Tea and Go are well together. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go_(game)
I’m just about finished with A Storm of Swords and The Backbone of History: Health and Nutrition in the Western Hemisphere.
I’m in the middle of Naked Heat by “Richard Castle.” It’s terrible, but I just keep going! Not sure what’s up next, but I hope it’s better. : )
My husband and I enjoy watching Castle – I’ve been wondering if any of the “Richard Castle” books were worth reading… I do think it’s awesome that they wrote real books to go with a fictional character (and put Nathan Fillion’s picture on them as the author). It’s just so meta!
As a fan of the show, they’re interesting. They help me to understand some of the interactions because I know what they’re talking about when they reference his books. However they’re also disappointing because you’re reading these thinly veiled characters and it’s like reading an episode. But poorly written. :)
I read the Rizzoli & Isles ebook bundle books 1-8, and now I’m rereading the Dresden Files :D I’m on Grave Peril :D
Making my 4th attempt to get through Atlas Shrugged. The first three tries I didn’t get past page 20, but I’m almost a third of the way through this time, so I think I’ll likely finish. Lots of mixed feelings about it… but an interesting read anyway. It occurred to me recently not to measure my reading time in hours, but in pots of tea… too bad I didn’t think of that before I started this one, I’d love to know how much tea it took to plow through all 1069 pages.
I read We the Living, The Fountainhead, & Anthem (of course, what Rush fan didn’t?). I started Atlas Shrugged, but never finished it. There was a waiting list at the library, so no renewals were allowed. Maybe I’ll try again…at some point…
I plowed through 100 or so issues of The Walking Dead in about two days. Very gripping and powerful comics!
That’s a lot of zombies. I wish I had a copy! I just recently started watching the show.
Never liked Jane Austen before but lately, I find her novels very entertaining. Perhaps I’m maturing. :D now I want to read the zombie version of pride and prejudice.
So many people seem to have the impression that ugh Jane Austen, that’s for serious readers, right? She is one of the most comic writers! Laugh out loud literature, with strongly written characters…huge fan right here!
I consider myself a serious reader. I always have been. Jane Austen bored me though. As did most English authors from that period. I ought to give them all another try.
