Awesome thread! The only time I remember seeing it is The Golden Girls.
I have the episode on where Sophia has a galbladder attack due to over eating and Rose asked her if she wanted a cup of tea.
Another example from The Golden Girls. This one has relavence in the plot. Rose can’t sleep cuz she drinks too much highly caffinated tea before bed.
Rose to Dorothy as they’re remodeling the bathroom “Why don’t we wash our hands and have a cup of tea?”
Blanche, Rose, and Dorothy eat cheesecake and drink tea because they’re too scared to go to bed after watching Psycho.
Well, my icon is a scene from Doctor Who, of the Doctor sipping the tea Jo just brought in for the group of them. Other than that, I don’t recall having seen anything recently, no.
Edit: Oh, I just came across a side-banner for the website ‘beau-coup’, “Tea Party Favors, Tea Wedding Favors”. If that counts.
<3 Doctor Who! In the newer series, when David Tennant first became the doctor, he was rejuvenated by some spilled tea steaming over him. :D
Aaah yes. I have an icon of the tenth Doctor drinking tea. Two, in fact. I’m unsure what episode they come from though; I don’t follow the new series very much. Pertwee is my Doctor.
In Spot of Doom, the Doctor was enjoying a cuppa while explaining part of the plot to The Innocent Bystander Who Dies/Turns Out The Enemy/Lives Happily Ever After.
My Doctor is Tom Baker because that is where the series started for me on NETV (PBS).
Aah, Baker. I have almost all of season 16 on dvd for Romana I. I made a knitted version of Romana II’s scarf, too. I love it.
Baker was my FIRST Doctor, but it didn’t take long to discover Pertwee (and then Troughton, who is wonderful and brilliant as the Doctor too).
Star Trek the next generation. Captain Picard drank a lot of Earl Grey. Wonder how those synthesizers brewed tea?
With as much BBCAmerica I watch, you would think I could remember a few more times I’ve spotted tea on the TV!
Tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
Have you seen this cup? http://www.cafepress.com/wilwheaton.417431376
Syfy had a TNG marathon and the final episode was “All Good Things…” Picard asks the replicator for “tea. earl grey. hot.” when he travels to the past, and the computer’s reply is something like, “that beverage has not been programmed into the replicator.” It’s always a laugh how Picard, a frenchman, has an English accent and drinks Earl Grey. Picard was an impetus to my Earl Grey obsession as a child.
I wonder how well the replicator did at making the tea? In the Star Trek universe, are there people debating the merits of loose tea, bagged tea, and replicated tea?
…ricky gervais on one of his stand up performances that can be seen on ‘youtube.com’…sending one guy from the audience to bring him " A cup of tea, milk…no sugar. Thanks"
Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) on the CBS series The Mentalist drinks tea frequently on the show.
How did I not notice that?
This clip is close. He mentions having a quick cup of tea but…

Miss Fine made Val a cup of tea on “The Nanny”. She just threw the bags in the cups and poured water over them.
“Are You Being Served?” always had tea in the breakroom—of course, it was in London!
Awesome show!! They did drink a lot of tea. And I can remember many an episode wi/ Mrs. Slocum (?) saying, “weak as water.”
Just saw Reynholm drinking a cuppa laced with Rohypnol in the IT Crowd.
Tea made another appearance on NCIS: Los Angeles" the other night. Tea has been mentioned in several episodes. This time there was a nice shot of Hetty’s beautiful tea service. Callen had a great quote …
“You know in nursing homes they only have tea in bags and it just tastes like paper. When the time comes I’ll bring you the good stuff. Smuggle it in if I have to.”
I love this show. Did you see the episode when Sam was preparing a pot of tea. Callen smelt the leaves and said “it smells like mold!” Sam, “I’m not going to tell Hetty.” Sam tastes the tea in front of Hetty, “good.” She then takes the tea service to her office, pours a cup, takes a long drink…almost spits it out…“Moldy” ….LOL!
