David's Tea Halloween 2018
Does anyone know or have any guesses as to when David’s Tea will release their Halloween collection? It is one of my favorite releases of the season!
I’m still stocked up on Pumpkin Cheesecake (I bought a big tin of it two years ago) but I love that blend. I always disliked the magic potion (stevia) and am indifferent towards Stormy Night and Witch’s Brew.
I hope they bring back Mulberry Magic. I wouldn’t mind seeing peanut butter cup, but I think they will just promote Hard Candy and Chocolate Covered Almond. I would like to see some new blends this year without milk and stevia in them, but we will see.
I’m always most excited for the Christmas blends and the return of Rainbow Sherbet in the summer.
I’m anxiously awaiting the Halloween teaware! Hoping they go more spooky instead of cutesy. I’m recalling that they went light on the Halloween merch last year because the year before that it wasn’t released until mid October making them loose a significant portion of the season so sales didn’t look that great for Halloween gear.
Woke up this morning to an email that the Halloween merch had released. Looked at it and was super disappointed. The design is some cartoon angry eyes and pointy teeth with ears. It’s spooky-lite and looks like an illustration out of a preschool book. They must have someone who hates Halloween making the call on designs because they are not bringing their best to the table. Remember the year they had the hand reaching out of a grave holding a teapot? Or the haunted castle on the hill? Color changing cat silhouette that revealed a skeleton? Those were so good! It’s like they were trying to not try this year.
I didn’t love this year’s design either. What is that even? I even prefer the cutesy stuff they previously had to whatever this “spooky” thing is. Monster Mash sounds interesting though. I want the soup tea mug (aka the old large latte mugs DAVIDs used to carry) so maybe I can grab a sample if/when I go to get that.
I remember the colour changing cat and am still disappointed that it sold out before I could actually get to order it. it haunts me. I was so excited this morning when I saw the Halloween collection, bc at first glance I thought that creature (the one on the bottle) was a cat and then was a little let down.

Sadly, I have broken all the David’s Halloween mugs I have gotten over the years. I had the cat one and it was fun until someone (not me) put it in the dishwasher which started it down a path of devastation where the prints peeled off.
If they just did the spiderwebs that are on the soup mug minus the one eyed spider on everything, I’d be down for buying a new travel mug. They need someone who loves Halloween on the job. They do everything wrong with their Halloween merch and seem to take poor sales from poor marketing as an indicator it isn’t wanted and a reason to do less stuff the next year. They wait too long to put it out. EVERYONE has their Halloween merch out by early September (if not August in the case of craft stores) and David’s is waiting until they are into October, then wondering why it isn’t selling. It’s because by the time you receive your order, you only have two weeks at most left until Halloween. It’s because everyone has been Halloween shopping for a month already. It’s because you put stupid not spooky graphics on your merch this year. Are you hearing me David?!!! They are taking the best holiday out there and crapping all over it.

I personally like the ‘trees’ cause it looks like sakura, but the background was meh. The Fox is cute though!
